very interesting lens and great tattoos
  • cocktailsexaminer Aug 11, 2011 @ 8:50 pm | delete
Great lens! It is interesting how much time and effort goes into creating the illusion of a particular actor/actress having tattoos for the sake of a movie role.
  • Tattoo_Rebel Aug 10, 2011 @ 5:26 pm | delete
I always find it interesting to see the same actor in different movies with different tattoos on them every time. Being a tattoo artist, it just makes it kind of humorous seeing how hollywood uses tattoos as some kind of personality definition. How I see it, you are who you are, with or without the tattoos. I always tell people when they ask why I tattooed myself, because I am just putting something on my body that I was born without. Just like someone born without an arm gets a prosthetic, it is the same for me, just tattoos. They dont make me anyone different. They just make me feel whole.

I must confess that I hate tattoos but I love good movies and don't mind if they have those monstrous tattoos in them.Thank you for exposing the insanity of mankind. Rafick

I am a huge tattoo fan, especially tattoos made of words. I enjoyed your lens. You ought to put something in it about all the controversy surrounding the sequal movie to the Hang Over. Where the main character gets a tattoo, like Mike Tyson's on his face.
  • RetroMom May 31, 2011 @ 2:57 am | delete
Tattoos in the movies are really cool. Some who watched the movie imitate the tattoo. This is a great lens.

Pretty awesome lens. I think Brad Pitt in Snatch wins the prize for best body art on camera.

OOps, I just saw that u have red dragon in your list.. my FAIL. nice lens. I will make sure to check these movies XD
  • MartialArtsHub Sep 29, 2010 @ 1:19 pm | delete
Haven't seen many of those movies but I did see Red Dragon - the prologue to The Silence of The Lambs - with Ed Norton and the guy who portraits the killer hasa huge dragon tattoo on his back, Yakuza-like. You get to see it like for 30 sec once, but it really stuns.. check that out. maybe you could add it to your list ;)

The actors--most of them, anyway (the smart ones) are clever enough not to adorn their bodies with a permanent symbol of their depression and alienation....that's why they use the temptu body paints. Last a week, and you aren't stuck with something that looks so "cool" in 2003, but looks dated, jaded, and tired in 2010....and will look funny as hell in the nursing home in fifty years.
  • marksart Mar 8, 2010 @ 10:07 pm | delete
looking for a movie, the lead character is an artist whose main business is elaborate tattoos on Asian prostitutes. He flashes back to time as a POW in South East Asia.

there's an old western film in which some guys were tracking a treasure (I think) so they visited every brothel on their way in order to find the map of the treasure that was tattooed on one of the whore's butt. does anybody knows what the film title is? It's probably a spaguetti western one. Thanks.

The current release "The Fountain" features Hugh Jackman's character tattooing himself by hand. Lovely film, pretty realistic tattooing.
