In this lens you will find video clips of some of the best movie battle scenes of all time.
Epic battle scenes are becoming more and more common in movies due to modern special effects, but there are some notable battle scenes from older movies - battle scenes which used thousands of extras.
I have not given these battle scenes a ranking, they just appear on the list as I thought of them. If there are any that you think should be added, leave a comment at the end of the lens.

Faced with a massive army of orcs, hillmen, oliphants, trolls and an assortment of other creatures the men of Gondor take a battering until help arrives to sweep away the enemy.
This battle proves that huge armies of well-trained soldiers are all very well but if you have a magical lion and angry trees on your side you are likely to win any fight.

"Tora! Tora! Tora!" is the Japanese signal to attack - and the movie meticulously recreates the attack on Pearl Harbor and the events leading up to it. Opening scenes contrast the American and Japanese positions. Japanese imperialists decide to stage the attack. Top U.S. brass ignore it's possibility. Intercepted Japanese messages warn of it - but never reach F.D.R.'s desk. Radar warnings are disregarded. Even the entrapment of a Japanese submarine in Pearl Harbor before the attack goes unreport...0 points

Are these the best movie battle scenes of all time?Let me know what you think of these scenes and if there is another that you think is worthy of inclusion let me know.
good list, but battle of geonosis in star wars ep.2 is awesome, also pearl harbour has an epic bombing scene. all the other scenes are brilliant though.
Saving Private Ryan has easily the best battle scenes ever in war movies, both the beginning and end.
Zulu also rates pretty highly.
Excellent lens, check out my own list of top war movies sometimes.

Having been a birdologist since the age of seven I am something of an ornithological recluse. However, I managed to gain adulthood, if only physically, and after rude interludes as fingerprint officer, gardener and teacher I went to university as a "mature" student and found out that there is such thing as dumbing down of the education system.
I spent most of my time at university getting to grips with the internet and web design, filling in the free moments gaining a first class honours degree in Wildlife and Countryside Conservation.
Now I am a full-time birdwatcher and attempting to increase the amount of money I make through the internet.
