The Best Movies for 2 Year Olds
I used to quite like watching movies with my 2 year old. We used to watch them together. We could talk about what was happening and about the characters to help improve my son's vocabulary and to ensure it was an interactive experience. Its also a nice activity to do when you or your child are tired.
Some 2 year olds may not be able to watch the whole movie in one go at first but will often enjoy watching the movies in sections. It's quite good to watch some of the movie and watch a second installment the next day. You can talk about what the remember from the previous day. Or watch the movies as a family for a weekly treat.

My son began watching Wall-E before his 2nd birthday and loved it. He didn't watch it all in one go the first time but watched it through several times as a 2 year old.
The first part of the movie has no language so is easy for 2 year olds to follow. I would describe the first part of the movie as being enchanting, and I loved this part myself. It tells the story of Wall-E, the last working robot on Earth doing work he's programmed to do although all the humans left a long time to go. However, his life suddenly takes on new meaning when Eva, a more modern robot arrives on Earth. Wall-E begins to fall in love with Eva and his adventure starts from there. The second part of the film has a lot more language and talking.
As a 2 year old my son was very taken with Wall-E and wouldn't watch anything else for a while.

My son first watched Cars when he was 2 years and 8 months and loved it. It tells the story of Lightening Mcqueen a hot shot young race car, who is favorite to win the Piston Cup. However, the week before the big race he unintentionally ends up in a small town called Radiator Springs where he learns about the values of friendship and loyalty. Kids will love this movie and its not just for boys, there are some girl characters too.
This an excellent family movie which has many funny moments and promotes good values.
