The first Movie Soundtrack I fell in Love with!

What I love best about watching movies, aside from a really great, heart-wrenching or feel-good story is its music!

When I was nine, the first cassette tape I bought was that of a movie soundtrack for 8 Seconds!  That movie was based on the real life story of famous bull rider Lane Frost.  But of course, I've researched about it and found that there were a lot of exaggerations in the movie. But still, it was worth watching, and the soundtrack was wonderful.  Of course, it was country music and my most favorite ones include Reba McEntire's If I Had Only Known.

It just painfully reminds people to take cherish their lovedones because we can never really tell if it's the last time you'll ever gonna see them.  Sad but truth.  The best thing we can do is show how much we appreciate them and love them every day so there won't be any regrets.

Another one of my favorite song in the album is You Hung The Moon by Patty Smyth...the lyrics just swoon about what true love can do for someone... How a person can change your whole world, and how a broken heart can leave you devastated and hanged!

Karla Bonoff's Standing Right Next To Me has become so famous in that year and understandably people can relate so much to it's beautiful lyrics and melody.  Anyone who's in love with someone will simply fall for the song too.  Very idyllic!

Music and Lyrics

Nope, I haven't seen the movie yet. It's not yet shown on the movie theaters here and I'm not going to buy a pirated DVD to collect it. So my and niece I, are so patiently waiting for this. I'm sure it would be great even if I only have two reasons to bank on... Drew Barrymore and Hugh Grant...*sigh...need I say more??

Well, we're both loving the movie theme all the same! I had no idea Hugh Grant writes songs!!! Can you believe that??? Too good to be true! I think it's going to be my most favorite for the whole year, but I know it's still too early to say. Whatever, it won't be erased from my favorites list=)

Way Back Into Love

The fact that Hugh is singing this song just makes my heart beat faster... Why does he have to be so damn charming when he's taken and so out of reach anyway?

Way Back Into Love (full version)

lyrics: I've been living with a shadow overhead
I've been sleeping with a cloud above my bed
I've been lonely for so long
Trapped in the past, I just can't seem to move on

I've been hiding all my hopes and dreams away
Just in case I ever need em again someday
I've been setting aside time
To clear a little space in the corners of my mind

All I want to do is find a way back into love
I can't make it through without a way back into love
Oh oh oh

I've been watching but the stars refuse to shine
I've been searching but I just don't see the signs
I know that it's out there
There's got to be something for my soul somewhere

I've been looking for someone to shed some light
Not just somebody just to get me throught the night
I could use some direction
And I'm open to your suggestions

All I want to do is find a way back into love
I can't make it through without a way back into love
And if I open my heart again
I guess I'm hoping you'll be there for me in the end

There are moments when I don't know if it's real
Or if anybody feels the way I feel
I need inspiration
Not just another negotiation

All I want to do is find a way back into love
I can't make it through without a way back into love
And if I open my heart to you
I'm hoping you'll show me what to do
And if you help me to start again
You know that I'll be there for you in the end

WHy I love Movie Soundstracks

What's so great about movie soundtracks is that they take you from an old era of classic music, to folk, to original rock, to alternative, all in just one album. And although some of the songs are revised of performed by a different artist, The spirit of the song is never lost. I was able to discover songs that past my generation that I've never ever before through movies. I hear it in the movie and instantly like it... Then I go ahead look for that particular song, and loving it.

I'm dedicating this lens to all those movie themesongs that have been part and will always be part of my life. I'd like to think they are the soundtrack of my life. So I hope you come back every once in a while to check them out! It will mean so much to me if you could rate my lens and leave some thoughts before you go.

If I Had Only Known

Reba McEntire

If I had only known
It was the last walk in the rain
Id keep you out for hours in the storm
I would hold your hand
Like a life line to my heart
Underneath the thunder wed be warm
If I had only known
It was our last walk in the rain

If I had only known
Id never hear your voice again
Id memorize each thing you ever said
And on those lonely nights
I could think of them once more
Keep your words alive inside my head
If I had only known
Id never hear your voice again

You were the treasure in my hand
You were the one who always stood beside me
So unaware I foolishly believed
That you would always be there
But then there came a day
And I turned my head and you slipped away

If I had only known
It was my last night by your side
Id pray a miracle would stop the dawn
And when youd smile at me
I would look into your eyes
And make sure you know my love
For you goes on and on
If I had only known
If I had only known
The love I wouldve shown
If I had only known

Hi Sygil

Thanks for the comments on my lense :)
I like yours as well as it places ones focus on the actual soundtrack of movies. I always believe that music always evokes an emotional response in any person.

Keep up the good work!

About squishedbugsmoothie

Have you ever confused a dream with life? Or stolen something when you
have the cash? Have you ever been blue? Or thought your train moving
while sitting still? Maybe I was just crazy. Maybe it was the 60's. Or
maybe I was just a girl... interrupted.
