MPeople, great band with a brilliant lead singer are going on a new UK tour.
I think both albums are absolutely brilliant so when I got invited to an MPeople concert in Thetford Forest Park on Friday 13th July 2007, the last thing I thought was that this was potentially my unlucky day.
We had a struggle getting to the concert because it was Friday and Thetford is down in Suffolk and we were driving from Worcestershire which is about a 4 hour drive on a Friday night, just because of the sheer volume of traffic.
This is not a trip I would do for any old run of the mill band, have to say though if I had done my homework properly I would have found out that they were doing another concert a week later in Gloucestershire just down the road from us at the national arboretum - Westonbirt, oh well you can't win them all.
Anyway despite the length of the journey and the volume of traffic, we got there in good time, got the sarnies out and bought a couple of pints of cider and settled down to wait for the concert to start.
What a night, I can't even remember the name of the support artist because as soon as Heather Small started singing, with that totally unique voice of hers, I was totally sold again.
They did pretty much every track from the two albums I have, which I will detail below, and I can honestly say rather than not sounding as good as the studio recording I am totally convinced they were better.
The whole band were fantastic and Heather at one point did what I can only describe as a shudder which, unless you have actually witnessed it, you will not understand why that blew me away, just an amazing display of raw energy and her vocals, well you will just have to listen to some of their music to see what I mean and here is your chance to do exactly that.
MPeople are starting a new UK tour in 2009, with their first venue at indigO2 at the O2 on Thursday the 19th March 2009, there are links available for further dates and venues available in this lens, the last date for 2009 is the 1st December 2009 so make sure you don't miss out, find a venue near you and go see what I have been talking about. I can guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Reasons to love MPeople
MPeople a truly uplifting band are still alive and well after having been around for years producing their soul music albums, but that does not detract from their music, the quality of the performances they give and the uniqueness of Heather Small their lead singers voice.Heather also released a solo album called 'Proud' which is widely considered to be her signature tune.
You can visit one of MPeople's fansites by clicking on this link. Here you can gain access to a list of their venues and dates for their performances through 2009 by clicking on 'Diary' at the top right of the page.
I would strongly recommend that you check these dates out and make sure you take yourself along to what is sure to be a great night out that you will not forget in a hurry. I base this statement on personal experience and the knowledge that if you can select a slightly smaller, more intimate venue then this will maximize the performer to audience interaction. Remember the phrase 'just do it' well you really should.
