As we all know, there's no such things as ghosts!
Boogedy! Boogedy! Boogedy!
The Davis family is newly arrived to the town of Lucifer Falls, where Carlton plans to open a joke and gags store. They are also excited as this is the first time they will own their own home. Upon arrival they are greeted by the mysterious Mr Witherspoon, who implores them to leave town. The family refuses and Witherspoon warns them to beware of the Boogedy Man.
Spooky things begin to happen to the family while they move in. RE's teddy bear disappears, Jennifer hears sneezing and sees strange lights. Next doors begin to close and open on their own.
The children turn to the Lucifer Falls Historical Society, run by Mr Witherspoon. He introduces them to the tale of William Hanover, a old Pilgrim man who fell in love with a beautiful widow named Marion. Marion did not love Hanover in return, so he struck a deal with the Devil for a magic cloak that granted him mystical powers.
Unfortunately, Hanover kidnapped Marion's son Jonathan and while trying to cast a spell, killed himself, Marion and Jonathon. All became ghosts and are trapped on the property of the modern day Davis home.
Convinced their home is haunted, the Davis children try to tell their parents but have a hard time. When the paranormal activity increases, Carlton and Eloise decide to make a stand against Mr Boogedy and take away his magical cloak once and for all!
