Camera Bags

DSLR bags come in many shapes and sizes, what you choose will depend on how and where you use your camera. First we will start out with an introduction to some small camera bags that provide ease of use and access but because your hobbie might transform from a hobbie to a profession we will choose bags that are modular and/or expandable.

The Smaller DSLR or SLR bags can come with a belt loop and a shoulder strap. MROCK makes a modular line of bags that are compatible with a number of their camera bags that can be attached by a modular belt. Some other features to look for are padded shoulder strapps, weather jacket, lens cloth, wire port for headphones and water resistant fabric.

Lid opens away from the back of the camera bag by means of zipper and quick release buckle to provide convenient unobstructed access
Useful mesh pocket inside the lid, deep front pocket with more pockets and sleeves and two side pockets which together provide ample storage of accessory items,

Here is an example of a medium sized Camera bag that could be used in addition to the holser bag or a lense bag by using MROCKs modular system. It is the Cascade series for DSLR or SLR cameras.

The Cascade includes a divider and a padded U cradle and can hold a compact DSLR camera body with two lenses. Load the SLR camera horizontally grip facing up with up to a 3.5 inch lens attached. A second lens up to 5.5 inches tall can be stored on the other side of the divider. The Niagara can hold a lens, flash, digital camcorder or camera up to 6.25 (six and a quarter) inches long. The McKinley 671 includes the Modular Trolley 698 where as the Zion 670 includes the Modular Belt 680, which are both removable and interchangeable. The backpacks are otherwise identical. The rear section holds up to a 15.5 inch laptop computer or hydration pack. The Great Lakes 695. The McKinley includes many dividers and a removable camera Accessory Bag. The interior can be customized to fit your exact needs. The default set up is for a regular or Pro sized SLR camera body with up to a six inch lens attached and positioned in the middle of the lower section. There is room for several more lenses on either side. Removing the Accessory Bag (H-7 x W-11 x D-5 max) provides space to expand the camera section all the way to the top of with the extra set of dividers. A longer lens can be attached to the camera body and the space can be configured for a second SLR camera body with attached camera lens, plus additional accessory items. The Accessory Bag includes a shoulder strap and a belt loop. There is double access into the entire front or just the lower section. The McKinley is constructed with water resistant exterior zippers and 600D nylon, thick closed cell foam reinforced with plastic inserts and a soft non abrasive interior providing outstanding protection of the contents.
