Lesson Plans for "Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH"

I'm a BUSY homeschooling Mom (as my husband and I are both self-employed full-time). So, I love and need good lesson plans.

But, when it came to "Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH" (which came highly recommended by our retired-5th-grade-teacher neighbor), I was disappointed by the poor selection and quality of lesson plans available online. Fortunately, our neighbor gave us her lesson plans - which, as it turned out - was a compilation of notes and pages from multiple sources.

Thus, I was left with the inevitable conclusion that the best lesson plans for "Mrs. Frisby" would be the ones that I pieced together myself, from several sources. And, voila! Here are the Mrs. Frisby lesson plans for your use and enjoyment with your child.
I like to have my child read about one chapter a day.

I like to have my child learn a few new vocabulary words with each chapter. I don't really need her to do alot of activities with the vocabulary words. We started out with vocabulary flash cards, and writing sentences about them, etc. But, we found that there just wasn't enough time in the day to do everything. So, our vocabulary goal for reading literature is for her to understand the meaning in the context of the story.
