Youth hostels in Paris

PHOTOS: Expert Travel Tips From Seth Kugel
Guest houses are somewhere in between bed and breakfasts and youth hostels. At hostelbookers.com, you can search for guest houses. And, at airbnb.com, you can rent an apartment. Both of these options will be cheaper than staying in hotels.
Amid Europe's economic crisis, Britain fears a 'lost' generation of jobless youth
Among Aden's friends and roommates in the youth hostel where he lives in a gritty section of northwest London, the story is the same: There's little work, and certainly no good full-time jobs even for those with college or technical degrees.

Getting There and Away

Cheap Flights to and from Paris

Paris has three major international airports. Aeroport d'Orly is 14km south of central Paris. Aeroport Charles de Gaulle, or also known as Roissy-Charles de Gaulle is 23km northeast of central Paris. The 3rd one is in Beauvais, where only Ryanair flights land. To go to Beauvais airport, you have to take a shuttle bus from Porte d'Italie.

# Orly Airport

You have 3 options on how to get to Paris:

1) The quickest way is to take the free shuttle bus to the Pont de Rungis-Aeroport d'Orly RER station which is on the C2 line, and get on a train to Paris. To see the map of metro and RER lines in Paris : www.ratp.fr

2) You could also take the Orlyval shuttle train ( which normally costs about 8 euros for 40 minutes), it stops near Orly-Sud's Porte F and links Orly with the Antony RER station, which is on line B4. Orlybus, costs about 6 euros for 30 minutes takes you to Denfert-Rochereau metro station. Air France buses go to/from Gare de Montparnasse every 15 minutes.

3) If you dont' mind spending more, a taxi to/from Orly costs about 45 to 55 euros.

#2 Charles de Gaulle Airport

Roissybus links the city with both of the airport's train stations. To get to the airport, take the line B train. You may have to buy a ticket at the RER station where you board, as regular metro ticket windows can't always sell these tickets.

Another way is to take a line A to Marne-La-Vallee ( Disneyland ), and then take a TGV train to Charles de Gaulle 2. It takes only 10 minutes from the Marne-La-Vallee to the airport but can costs you for nearly 20 euros.

In France, inexpensive flights offered by discount airlines and charter clearing houses can be booked through many regular travel agents. These are a few :
