Mucinex Fast-Max (Cold, Flu & Sore Throat Liquid) Product Review

I was sitting here the other afternoon reading, writing and working. Everything seemed all right when all of a sudden my left eye and the front sinuses along that side burst into a sensation of heat and irritation. Raising my hand, I covered the left side of my face and eye. I thought oh, no allergies again. I wonder what might be happening outside since the front door is open, did something bloom, what is in the air. I sneezed and then I sneezed again. Two sneezes and I are not one that sneezes all the time or for no good reason. I knew then I was beginning to get ill. I blew my nose and continued to work.

However, the sinus pressure and nasal congestion continued. As many others do, I noticed minor aches and pains. I felt a building headache, a sinus headache, an icky tickling in my throat and a slight fever sneaking up on me. I took some non-brand pain reliever fever reducer and continued with my daily schedule. That helped some but I knew I would need to run to the local superstore to pick up some type of over the counter cold and flu remedy. However, the kids were in bed and it was late, so I went to bed too.

The next morning I woke with a strange sensation in my head. Along the left side of the roof of my mouth is a film, a layer of hardened mucus. I hate that feeling and it is nasty, it makes me want to gag. It feels like a layer of dry buggers stuck to the roof of the mouth. I jumped up and ran to the bathroom, while sticking my finger in my mouth and lightly scraping the film away using my fingernail. Then I began rinsing and washing out my mouth, brushing my teeth and then gargling. I got a large drink of nice cold water for rehydration.

My head was stopped-up by nasal congestion and sinus congestion. Mostly the focus was on the left side, but my whole head felt tired, ill and a bit groggy. I noticed my throat was sore as well, again, mostly on the left side. My eyes were burning or stinging and watering. My head throbbing along with the throb throb, throbbing of my sinuses. I was not sure what I wanted from over the counter, but I wanted something that would work and work fast.

We have used the Mucinex tablets before. I brought this bottle home with me and took a regular dose.

The flavor is different. It is milder than most other types of cough, cold and flu or sore throat over the counter medications.

I'm not sure the flavor, i want to say some type of berry, maybe even cherry. I'm not really sure. But, the formula does not seem to have the burning taste that so many of the over the counter cold remedies have today. Maybe, it is less alcohol or no alcohol. I'm not sure, but, it taste much better than anything else I've tried since as far back as I can remember.

I could feel the difference when it began working and I could tell the difference when the medication began to wear off.

I took about 4 doses of this maximum strength Mucinex Fast-Max Cold, Flu & Sore Throat Liquid. After the second dose my sore throat was gone. I could breathe better, since it helped to relieve the congestion and pressure. The fever is gone as well as the minor aches and pains.

Would I use it again? Yes, I would. I do think that it was money well spent and I will use it again when the need arises.
