Muddy Waters, was a great American blues musician. He is "the Father of Chicago blues".

Muddy Waters received a large number of awards for his work, among them six Grammy Awards. His songs are included in the Grammy Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Muddy Waters was inducted into the Blues Foundation Hall of Fame in 1980, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987 and in 1992 he received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.

Muddy Waters has his own U.S. Post Office Postage Stamp

 

In 1994, the U.S. Postal Service honored Muddy Waters posthum by including his image on a postage stamp.

This design is now being incorporated into a jumbo postcard, available exclusively through your local Post Office. This limited edition piece is part of the Black Heritage Series, Vol. 3. Muddy's postcard will be included along with 18 other American Music Legends such as Duke Ellington, Robert Johnson, Otis Redding and John Coltrane.
