The World of Multifunction Products

Once upon a time, there lived a copier, printer, fax and scnner who lived separate and peaceful existences. One day, a new creature entered the scene named MFP who had all the positive traits and characteristic of a copier, printer, fax and scanner. Everyone thought it was just a copier and many of the magically qualities were missed. A magican (actually it was the Network Administor) came and hook the MFP to the network so everyone was able to use it as a printer which everyone liked. People started noticing how easy it was to fax a document from the MFP while they were either picking up their prints or just making copies. People liked that too. They also noticed how easy it was scan a document to email or just to their desk top right from the MFP control panel. People were absolutely amazed. Many other powerful best practices would soon come in the area of remote printing, security and other software programs. This was all encouraged by enaging and collaboration master - The Selling Hero.

There is lots of competition in the industry of "copiers". As I have stated in my last writings these copiers are no longer just copying. They do many other functions such as print, fax, scan and other "intergrated solutions". It seems that when a potential client is looking for a copier, price, service and maybe brand are some of the top criteria.

Every competitior in this industry says they are the best in products, service, supplies and support. Everyone says they are better than everyone else. Even if all things across the board were the same what is a person going to do that will stand out from the rest.

I think it has alot to do with how you connect with people way before they buy potential and how you treat them after they buy. For the "hunter" salesperson this may be a problem long term.

As a Sales Hero I hope to provide more than the traditional sales person who only shows up when you buy something. http://www.petergodinezsc.com

Looks like you are heading down the right track...considering integrating document imaging technology. If you run into a case where the customer needs to just scan documents to the network consider the Kodak Scan Station 100. I've used it ...it works!

MFP- It seems many people do not know what this term means in the general business populations. You may be an exception. The initials MFP stands for Multifunction Products. The business world does not use this term alot. They may say copier that prints or a printer that copies. You may be expereinced enough to remember when people did not know what the term "fax" was even thou the technology had been around for 10 years. I blurb this subject because I want to be able to educate people on this subject. MFPs are devices of various sizes, speed, combined functionality that involve making marks on paper or converting paper to electronic format for a wide variety of business uses. The variety of methods grow each year. This is where I want to help people. It is not just a copier or printer any more. It is about figuring out how to bring revenues in to a company. If this is not happening then a company will not exist, then there will be no need for a MFPs or anything at that.
