Grab your weapons, enter the dungeon and kill everything in your path. And if that's not enough, do the same to your friends, steal their treasures and conquer the world ...

The designer behind Munchkin, Steve Jackson, created an interesting, hilarious and fast game.

The game, the expansions and the fun

Munchkin comes in different versions and has alot of expansions. Every Munchkin game can be played seperatly, adding more fun with the expansions. The best part is, every Munchkin game can also be combined to give you access to an enourmous pool of cards.

Here is a list of Munchkin games and their expansions:

Munchkin: The original game.

Star Munchkin: Space, the final frontier.

Munchkin Fu
  • Munchkin Fu 2 - Monky Business

Munchkin Bites!
  • Munchkin Bites! 2 - Pants Macabre

Super Munchkin
  • Super Munchkin 2 - The Narrow S Cape

Munchkin Impossible

Munchkin Cthulhu
  • Munchkin Cthulhu 2 - Call of Cowthulhu

The Good, the Bad, and the Munchkin

Then there are some sets that don't fit with any game, or fit with all games:

Munchkin

The original game is just what its name says: original.
You go into a dungeon to slay monsters like the Potted Plant and the Drooling Slime, work your way deeper and deeper to match yourself with even harder monsters like the Plutonium Dragon.
On your way, capture treasures like Don the Horny Helmet or the Boots of Butt-Kicking. And when your friends aren't paying attention, make a habit of stealing their stuff.

Munchkin 2 - Unnatural Axe

112 more cards, created by Steve Jackson, illustrated by John Kovalic.
Go deeper into the dungeon, as a new race perhaps? Go as Orc and fight the Tentacle Demons. Shouldn't be hard equiped with Spiked Codpiece, the Catapult or the Unnatural Axe.
If you can't handle the heat, recruit some allies, the Shoulder Dragon will do fine.

This expansion was designed for Munchkin, but it will play with Munchkin Fu or Munchkin Bites too.

Munchkin 3 - Clerical Errors

Again created by Steve Jackson and illustrated by John Kovalic, Munchkin 3 - Clerical Errors brings you another 112 new cards. As a special, 5 cards were illustrated by guest comic designers:
  • Phil Foglio's Magnificent Hat
  • Pete Abrams' Perfectly Ordinary Rabbit
  • Tom Ricket' s Stick Figure
  • Jon Rosenberg's Fowl Fiend
  • Randy Milholland's Redneck Tree!
The Orcs have had their fun, now it's time for the Gnomes! And what better class than Bards to bring peace and quiet?
You better be sober to face the Tequila Mockingbird and equip your Chainmail Bikini to face the Auntie Paladin.

This expansion was designed for Munchkin, but it will play with Munchkin Fu or Munchkin Bites too.

Munchkin 3.5 - Clerical Errata

This is a special one.
Murphy's law caused soem delay in the print of Munchkin 3 - Clerical Errors. To be more precise, 28 of the cards in that set were printed with the wrong back. They were reprinted, but the misprints were made available in Munchkin 3.5 - Clerical Errata, just for the collectors.

This expansion contains 28 cards who are also available in the Munchkin 3 - Clerical Errors expansion. However, they have different backgrounds and thus play differently (if at all).

Munchkin 4 - The Need For Steed

Steve Jackson and John Kovalic make a great team, designing another expansion of 112 great cards.
Long live the Steeds! Everybody gets a ride in this expansion. Wheter you prefere a Giant Mutant Gerbil (drawn by Shaenon K. Garrity), a Chicken or a Big Joe, you WILL get a steed!
A second feature are hirelings, disposable allies allowing you to use their special abilities and send them in as cannon fodder.

This expansion was designed for Munchkin.

Munchkin 5 - De-Ranged

Dungeons are soooo retro.
Steve Jackson and John Kovalic lead the Munchkins out of the dungeon and into the woods. 112 new cards to breath the fresh air of the forest.
Munchkin 5 - De-Ranged features the ranger class. The Munchkin tamers can tame monsters and then use them for their own purposes. Who wouldn't want to send a Poultrygeist to one of their friends.
New treasures like the Philosopher's Scone (no, not a typo, it's a parody after all) and new "monsters" like the Brothers Grimm (aren't they folk tale writers?).

This expansion was designed for Munchkin.

Star Munchkin

The Munchkins have returned. Not in a dungeon, not in the woods ... but into space!
Star Munchkin is a standalone game (with its own expansion) that can be combined with many other Munchkin products to create a bigger and better game.
Star Munchkin was again created by Steve Jackson and illustrated by John Kovalic. The box features 168 cards, the rules and a die.

Mutants, Androids, and Cat People join the forces armed with Lasers, Vibroswords, and Nova Grenades. Munchkins meet new enemies like Fanged Fuzzballs and Bionic Bimbos.

This game can be combined with Munchkin

Star Munchkin 2 - The Clown Wars

Once more, Steve Jackson and John Kovalic create 112 more cards to form this Star Munchkin expansion.
The Clown Wars tell the tale of the future. The Munchkins will arm themselves to fight monsters like the Nerds of Prey. But they will not go in unarmed, the Sprayser or the X-Rayser will help their cause.
Noone is safe when they use the new "room" cards. Open the door and be in for a big suprise. Play the bugs (race) or a space ranger (class).

This expansion was designed for Star Munchkin, but it will play with Munchkin, Munchkin Fu or Munchkin Bites too.
