Jim Henson's World of Muppets
It would be difficult for me to choose a favorite muppet, but Kermit the Frog is probably Jim Henson's most well known creation. Kermit the Frog was the manager and host of The Muppet Show and often had a difficult time getting the other muppets to cooperate and arranging everything so that the human guest stars were satisfied.
Jim Henson, along with his creative team, conceived and created a huge cast of original muppets for the show. Other muppets, such as Kermit the Frog, Bert and Ernie, and Big Bird

Dr Teeth and The Electric Mayhem
Every variety show had to have their own house band and The Muppet Show was no different. However, their particular house band was very different.Known as Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem this all-muppet band was made up of Dr. Teeth as the leader and on the keyboard, Janice played guitar, Sergeant Floyd Pepper plucked the bass, Zoot tooted the saxophone and Animal (that madman) beat the skins, that is he played the drums. Later, during season 5, Lips joined the band to add a trumpet sound.
The Electric Mayhem played a big part in the movies, The Muppet Movie and The Great Muppet Caper as well as other movies and spin offs.
Muppet Movies and Spin Offs
Several full length movies were made using the Muppets; The Muppet Movie, The Muppet Christmas Carol, The Great Muppet Caper, Muppets from Space, The Muppets Take Manhattan, Muppet Treasure Island, and a Muppet version of The Wizard of Oz.If you haven't seen these movies yet I highly recommend them. Go out and rent them or buy them soon or keep an eye on your TV schedule and catch them that way.
There were also a couple of spin offs; The Jim Henson Hour and Muppets Tonight and Statler and Waldorf: From the Balcony. These shows included many of the regular characters from The Muppet Show as well as a lot of new ones.
