Characters of Sesame Street and The Muppets Costumes

Everyone should remember Jim Henson, the creator of shows like The Muppets, Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock and Return of the Jedi.  Jim Henson was the performer for several well known characters, including Kermit the Frog, Ernie, Rowlf the Dog, Dr. Teeth, The Swedish Chef, Waldorf, Guy Smiley, Link Hogthrob, and the Muppet Newsman.  In 1976, Henson moved his creative team to England, where The Muppet Show began filming. The show featured Kermit as host, and a variety of other memorable characters including Miss Piggy, Gonzo the Great, and Fozzie Bear. And now, for Halloween, you can be those characters too!!

Miss Piggy Costumes

The Muppets Adult Miss Piggy Costume

One of the central characters of the show. She is a pig who is convinced she is destined for stardom, and nothing is going to stand in her way. She presents a public face of the soul of feminine charm, but can instantly fly into a violent rage whenever she thinks she's insulted or thwarted. When she isn't sending Kermit flying through the air with her karate chops, she is often smothering him in (usually unwanted) kisses. So if you believe that you are destined for stardom and that beauty is your curse, then this Miss Piggy Costume could be the ideal one for you. Team her up with Kermit the Frog costume for an ideal couple's costume.

Kermit the Frog

Kermit the Frog was born in 1955 for a five-minute puppet show for WRC-TV's Sam and Friends before he appeared as an occasional guest on Sesame Street. In The Muppet Show television series, Kermit was the central character, the front man and the long-suffering stage manager of the theater show, trying to keep order amidst the chaos created by the other Muppets. Pair this costume with Miss Piggy's and make her dreams come true or head out to party with Kermit's best friend Fozzie.

Animal

The crazed drummer of Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem. Animal's vocabulary is generally limited to guttural shouts and monosyllabic grunts, often repeating a few simple phrases. During performances, Animal is usually chained to the drum set, as his musical outbursts are extremely violent and the only one who seems to be able to control him at all is Dr. Teeth. Instead why not let Animal off his chain and bring him to life this Halloween.

Fozzie the Bear

Fozzie the bear is very good natured and loves his friends and was named after Faz Fazakas, the person who created the mechanism that allowed Fozzie to wiggle his ears. He's a comedic bear who tells jokes (not very well either) and has the catch phrase, "Wocka Wocka Wocka". Usually after all his jokes he gets pelted by tomatoes. Now you can bring Jim Henson's good natured, friend loving, bad joke telling Muppet, Fozzie Bear, to life with this Fozzie Bear Costume. You can even pair him with his best bud Kermit.

Gonzo The Great

Gonzo is a muppet who sports a bizarre, non-human appearance, which includes blue fur, purple feathers on his head, bug-eyes, and a long, hooked nose who first appeared in a 1970 Christmas special entitled The Great Santa Claus Switch. In Muppets From Space it is revealed that he is an alien from a distant planet in space and he meets his alien family for the first time. So if you are someone who takes great pride in your uniqueness and enjoys everything you do no matter how painful, then the Muppets' resident daredevil performance artist, Gonzo, might be the ideal character for you to bring to life.

Old Dudes in the Balconey

Statler and Winston, named after The Statler Hilton and the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, were the two old farts that were always in the balcony heckling the Muppets.

How about the characters from Sesame Street

Big Bird, Elmo, Oscar the Grouch, Cookie Monster or Bert and Ernie
