This gave me explosive results from my workouts. Here is what you do:

Beginning in the starting position of your exercise, explode upwards until your target muscle is fully contracted. Stay in that position and keep your muscle squeezed for about one second. Then you are going to take 4 seconds to lower the weight back to the starting position.

This technique will maximize the amount of muscle fiber that you tear with each repetition. If you have been working out for any amount of time, I'm sure you know that tearing your muscle fibers is a good thing. This is what allows your muscle to rebuild itself stronger and larger.

Way too many guys seem to over complicate their weight gaining diets. Here is the fundamental rule which applies to ANY mass gaining diet: Consume more calories than your body burns. To do this you will need to spend a week counting your daily caloric intake. Once you find this number, you are going to need to add 300-500 calories to it.

Keep in mind that you must eat the right foods. Junk food will just produce fat instead of muscle mass. If you are looking for a large muscle mass increase, then you are going to need to focus on your protein intake as well. About 55% of your diet should be pure protein.
