Chrome Baby, Chrome

I think classic muscle cars are way cooler than rice rockets and let me tell you why . . .

Muscle cars are better looking; compare the 66 Chevy Chevelle SS 396 in this photo to any Honda and tell me you don't agree.

Muscle Cars are stronger and better built than any of those Japanese cars.

Rear Wheel Drive! I want to see a Rice Rocket lift its front wheels off the ground. Then again, maybe they can do it... in reverse.

More than twice the motor. How many times does 1.8 go into 6.1?

And you can't even compare the sound of a muscle car's roaring engine to the whine of those little egg beater motors. Muscle car engines demand their respect on the road. When you hear one coming all the little ricers had best move aside!

Muscle Cars are Way Cooler than Rice Rockets

totalmuscle says:

Absolutely positively correct. The looks, sound, and overall class of a pure muscle car outweigh the Hondafied fart-cannons that run around these days. Hold on to or fully restore some muscle and you'll have a nice chunk of change waiting for you when you auction it off. Rice continues to devalue as more "performance tweaks" are added, like a muffler, 10 rpm gauges, neon lights, and a horde of fake sponsorship stickers. VTEC sounds like a toy, not an engine.

YouCanCallMeDan says:

Nothing will turn heads, including female's, faster than a large cube engine running open pipes. Ahh...

fefe says:

I like the way muscle cars look better.

NotDeadYet says:

My 1968 Pontiac Firebird convertible gets a lot of attention every time I am out. I've not heard of anyone being stopped at a red light and had the driver in the next car compliment them on their Honda.

Abbotts says:

You are right. We have a 69 road runner that we have had for 37 years. You can jerk, spin ,and slam gears all day and it is always ready to do it again. It was built when rice burners had 100 H P. Muscle cars will never get old, just go to the drag strip and see what most are still draging.

TerryC says:

I totally agree. My son has an import and I tell you that thing is fast but it just doesnt compare to a muscle car.
I have a 1951 dodge that has been clipped. shave and rolled. Has a full roller 5.7 TPI that has been stroked to a 383 with a healthy cam. Havent had it dyno tuned yet but there is nothing like the sound of a V8.
After this one is finished I have a 1971 318 duster that is plum crazy with factory buckets and console. No A/C but who needs it?
Muscle Rules !!!

happy-jack says:

Muscle cars will catch your eye much faster than the fuel quizzers. Some people just want to save gas. Now you have
corn juice, so you can feel good and get an even better ride.
Have a good ride, thats what its all about. And do some more
of these things please, real fun.

GlennSeymour says:

what I would give to have my 66 vette with a 435 engine back. If I could not have that, I would want my 61 vette with a 327 cu inch 350 HP engine..

And if not those,, my 1957 chevy two door hardtop..

and yes I forgot the 1972 Mustang 2 Plus 2..

those were the days.

StartPoint says:

I've own three 68 GTO's in my life, one rag top and 2 coupes. What a car! A rice rocket had no chance then and still doesn't today against a finely tuned muscle car. American muscle cars will always rule.

flowergardener says:

Gimme back my 1970 GTO and my 1962 Corvette. I'll blow them away!

Plato says:

Classic, nostalgic, with the right motor it would be no contest for a rice rocket.

Mobiiart says:

Nothing fires your blood up like 500 cubes of American muscle screaming down the street! Rice rocket rally racers are just teeny boppers borrowing daddies car on Friday night.

awelldressedbullet says:

* raises hand * Absolutely! * wipes tear from eye * remembering the good ole days!

bdkz says:

Oh Yeah...the 1960's & 1970's produced some of the most amazing pieces automotive history ever. My favorite is the GTO.

NorDac says:

Ricers are mostly show, with ridiculous addons that do nothing for the performance of the car (search for "fart cannon" sometime). Muscle cars work with performance as well as style. No Comparison to me :)

No way, Japanese Racing Cars are much cooler

Benny says:

You have obviously never tried to stop fast or turn corners. Straight line performance is one thing but cars with huge amounts of weight over the front wheels that a cast iron big block gives just dont handle or stop. Give me a light weight hi-po turbo 4 with 4wd (WRX STi, EVO Lancer, Nissan GTR etc) anyday and your brick will see nothing but my tail lights disappearing into the distance on a track (after the first corner that is). They use less fuel as well.

Juzza says:

Not a chance! Jap cabs are way hotter than "muscle cars".. Not that I dont like muscle cars, I just think that the sound of a car coming past you and hearing the turbo dumping is THE HOTTEST SOUND EVER!

BobTheTeacher says:

Just to play devil's advocate, I'll say the ol' Suzuki and Yamahas are better. In fact, I drive a Volvo S60 which certainly lacks status in either of these categories. :) But I'll take the logical route and let you know that the bikes are "cooler" because they are without exteriors.
