Mushroom Necklace

I'm not going to claim that I have the coolest shroom necklaces out there, but I spend a lot of time and energy on finding some of the funkiest glass mushrooms out there, and spend plenty more time getting them onto phat hemp for everyone to enjoy, so if you like what you see here on this lens, stop by my Etsy shop to see what I have in stock!

It's hard to say exactly what the appeal is with the mushroom necklaces, especially when you have hemp mushroom necklaces, but the one thing I do know is that I love wearing mine around, and judging by how fast I sell out when I make them, I'd say plenty of other people love them too. Plus when you know as many cool lampwork artists as I do, you always have a handle on the coolest, funkiest, and phattest looking mushroom glass pendants around.

The first thing I do is get in touch with a number of talented lampworkers and glass artists to see what they have made as far as cool mushroom glass pendants. Once I place my order with them, I wait impatiently for the package in the mail - the waiting really is the hardest part. Then once the shipment comes in, I grab about 5 yards of 48 lb natural hemp twine, and make square knots or half square knots (that gives the twisty pattern ones) . Once the knotting is half finished, I mount the mushroom pendant onto one of the strands and secure it in place. After that, I finish things off with an overhand knot that fits through the loop made when the first strands were put together. The entire process can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour of straight knotting.
