You love her & she loves music. Find the perfect wearable gift.

Let's be honest:  The perfect gift for a music lover is music. But sometimes you want to break away from CDs, MP3s, iTunes credits and go for something more unique.

I love fun jewelry and live for music, so I went hunting.  Here are the coolest music-themed jewelry gifts I could find--and why I think they rock.

Relix Guitar String Bracelet

Want to wear something from your favorite artist every day, without scouting ebay or--to borrow from an "Entourage" subplot--breaking the law to pilfer some of his or her clothing? Wear Your Music has a brilliant solution. They take donated guitar strings from musicians (dozens to choose from, including Bonnie Raitt, Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Carrie Underwood, Willie Nelson, Joan Jett...) and pair these with recycled fine silver to make bangle-style bracelets. The finished product gets packed in a recycled DVD case with a certificate of authenticity. Best part? Proceeds go to charities the artists select.

Note: Bracelets are custom made and can take 3 weeks, so order early.

Cost: $75-$500, depending on the artist

What rocks about it: What doesn't? It personal, it's charitable, it's "green." It's simple and subtle and oh so cool.

Heather Hyde "Rockette" Necklace

Part of the Lucky Charms collection by Hyde, a hip L.A. jewelry designer favored by celebs, this is one of the cutest guitar necklaces I've seen. Make that one of the cutest necklaces, period. It's hand casted and available in gold-filled and sterling silver varities. And again--yes! there's a "give twice" opportunity here, as Hyde gives fully half of her profits from online sales to charities like the Search Dog Foundation, Child Help, and the Pajama Program.

Cost: $120

What rocks about it: It's adorable! And charitable. Frankly, I'm usually a little turned off by celeb-favored brands, but this is a good one. I want this necklace.

Guitar Pick Necklace from Etsy

I <3 etsy.com, the online marketplace for handmade and vintage products. One of my favorite buys there was a silver guitar-pick necklace, hand-stamped with my (guitar-playing) husband's initials. I wear it at least twice a week.

With the version above, from SilverSparrowDesigns, you can take things a step further and get the sterling silver pick imprinted with a favorite song lyric! What an incredible gift. If you know your targeted gift recipient's favorite song or even favorite band, you probably can't go wrong with this.

Cost: $58 for SilverSparrow's product, or check out other sellers' versions on etsy.com

What rocks about it: If you want to give something utterly special and personal, I don't think you can do much better than this.

Darkcloud Silver Headphone Ring

Part of a line of "designer DJ jewelry" (who knew?), this sterling silver ring is too hip for me to pull off. But it would be amazing for some of the under-30s I know and love.

Cost: $285

What rocks about it: Clever + cute = :-)

Whether it's from a buzzing guitar--or from you ;) What do you think of these music-themed jewelry ideas? Would you wear them? Would you give 'em? Thanks for stopping by!
