I decided against radiation and chemotherapy and was so shocked and angered by my doctor's reaction, in that he basically wiped me off and told me I was on my own. What kind of a doctor is that??
That right there was my turning point. Cancer is a very scary thing and I wondered how others got on in the face of no support from the people you rely on, so there and then I decided to write about what I did and how I did it and was determined to beat the cancer and prove (like many others have) that anyone can do it. You should be able to choose what you want without pressure . So my lens is about how I survived my cancer naturally and I really hope it inspires people to take control because what I did not only cures cancer but most other diseases as well.

I always considered myself a health nut so when I was diagnosed with breast cancer in Feb. 2008 I got the shock of my life.It was at Xmas that I felt a lump in my right breast. It didn't go away so I went to the doctor and found I had breast cancer. Well that turned my life and that of my family upside down and we wondered how to deal with it.
After a barrage of tests the following week, an operation, followed by chemotherapy and radiation therapy was recommended. This is where everything went pear-shaped because I just couldn't do it. I don't know why, I just knew I couldn't do chemo.
My family supported me 100% in any decision I made so I decided only to have the tumour removed and no other treatment even when I found out that cancer had gone to my lymph glands and got another shock all over again with that news.
I threw myself into the study of all things alternative and decided on a plan of action which was natural, much to the disgust of my doctor who wiped his hands of me. I was horrified at his reaction and wondered how others got on if they were faced with the same situation as me.
I made up my mind that day to write about what I do and pass it on to others. There are so many natural options for the treatment of cancer which have been successful for many people for decades. The amazingly good thing about these natural treatments is that because they build up the immune system any other health problems disappear as well. You definitely can't say that about chemo.
First of all I ENGAGED A NATURAL HEALTH CARE PRACTITIONER to supervise me and to fill in any nutritional gaps in my diet. That is VERY IMPORTANT for anyone who is contemplating going with Alternative Remedies.
Then there were some lifestyle and diet changes to be made so in the bin went all the chemical laden cleaning products, all the preservative added, coloured and flavoured food, all sugar foods like biscuits, cakes, chocolate and sweets and in came lots of discipline along with organic fruit and veg., green tea, wheatgrass, juices and a high potency cancer protocol developed by Dr. Johanna Budwig.
So, this is my intro. I want to develop my lens with information and articles on what I found out, what I did and how I did it so stay tuned for lots more to come. It has been a fabulous and rewarding journey which turned out successful as I am now cancer free so I hope that gives me and the information I write about some credibility.

In the 1950's, Dr. Budwig developed a cancer protocol which is touted to be one of the best alternative cancer therapies in the world today.Dr. Budwig, a seven time Nobel Prize nominee, held a PhD in Natural Science, underwent medical training, and was schooled in pharmaceutical science, physics, botany and biology. Dr. Budwig specialized in the study of fats and oils and the benefits or harm to our bodies depending on the type of fats we eat.
All living tissue rejects fats foreign to our bodies, for example manufactured fats like margarine or salad oils. These fats are isolated by the body and accumulate around the heart muscle, cause fatty liver with impaired gall bladder function, rheumatism and joint diseases and tumour formation.
Dr.Budwig states in her book "Flax Oil as a True Aid Against Arthritis, Heart Infarction, Cancer and Other Diseases" that in 1957 at the Cancer Research Institute in Paris, the latest research results showed that the only substance which characterized cancerous cells as opposed to healthy ones, was isolated fat in the cell nucleus, cell body and cytoplasm. "It was the single distinguishable feature of cancerous cells in contrast to healthy ones".
Dr. Budwig is best known for her extensive research on the properties and benefits of flaxseed oil combined with sulphurated proteins in the diet and has assisted many seriously ill, even terminal people given up by their doctors, to regain their health through a simple regimen of nutrition.
The fats in Flax Seed, that is the electron-rich fats which attract protein through their electrical potential, become water soluble when they combine with good proteins as are present in Quark. They prevent the isolation of fats. They attract oxygen, and create oxygen reserves, and we know that cancer cannot survive in oxygen.
The basis of Dr. Budwig's protocol is the use of flaxseed oil blended with cottage cheese/quark. The mixing of the oil and cottage cheese allows for the chemical reaction to take place between the sulfur protein in the cottage cheese and the oil, which makes the oil water soluble for easy absorption into your cells. It should be blended to the point where you don't see any oil and it is a creamy custard consistency. Her formula in the ratio of (two to one) of 2 tbsp low fat cottage cheese (quark) to 1tbsp of flaxseed oil helps increase metabolism, boosts the immune system, reduces cholesterol levels and helps inhibit cancer cell growth. This is so simple that you would be forgiven for thinking how ridiculous this is for a cancer cure but together with other strict guidelines, that is exactly what it is - a cancer cure.
Dr. Budwig stressed that it is very important to avoid unhealthy foods and substances such as hydrogenated fats, animal fats, sugar, white flour, preservatives, chemicals and processed foods. Avoid leftovers, food should be prepared fresh and eaten soon after preparation within 15-20 minutes to get the health-giving electrons and enzymes. At least 3 times a day drink a warm liquid such as green or herbal teas, sweeten only with raw honey.
She states in her book: "The majority of preservatives can be labeled as respiratory poisons in that their effect is to block the combustion of fat - its continued interaction with oxygen. When we supply respiratory activating fats (like flax seed oil) and prevent the ingestion of preservatives, which are respiratory poisons, then great numbers of patients who have been given up as hopeless cases by many clinics, will recover their health".
I take this everyday in the form of a creamy topping on muesli and fruit for breakfast, a tasty homemade salad dressing, or icecream.
Dr. Budwig has a published cook book - "The Oil Protein Diet Cookbook" - which is on my Amazon list on this page with 500 recipes using her quark/flaxseed formula.

The modern misguided practice of consuming large amounts of unprocessed bran often improves colon transit time at first but may lead to irritable bowel syndrome and, in the long term, many other adverse effects.
Soaking allows enzyme, lactobacilli and other helpful organisms to break down and neutralize phytic acid. As little as seven hours of soaking in warm acidulated water will neutralize a large portion of phytic acid in grains. Foods That Cure - The Benefits of Coconut Oil
Nothing could be further from the truth!
Coconut oil is so beneficial to us that it should be classed as a super food. Research has shown that Medium Chain Fatty Acids, as found in coconut oil, provide a wide range of health benefits.
Vegetable oils and animal fats are composed of Long Chain Fatty Acids which are digested slowly. When they are absorbed into our bodies, fat and proteins come together and form lipoproteins which are distributed throughout the body via the blood stream. These fats fill up our fat cells and end up clogging our arteries.
The medium chain fatty acids in coconut oil however, are channeled straight to our liver where they are used as fuel to produce energy. They do not enter our blood stream so therefore we do not gain weight or end up with clogged arteries.

Well, you would have to say that is a very impressive list and this is only the short list. Coconut oil does much more but for the sake of space I have kept it short. To reap these benefits you should take at least 30ml per day or up to 3 tablespoons. It can be mixed into a smoothie, taken straight, used as a spread or drizzled over steaming veggies.
Be aware that you must buy pure, organic, extra virgin, unrefined, un-hydrogenated coconut oil.
Coconut oil is a very stable oil and does not form harmful by-products when heated for cooking. It is resistant to oxidation, giving it a long shelf life. When the weather is cold, it is solid but very quickly liquefies when it is warm but it is not necessary to refrigerate it as it does not go rancid.
Coconut oil seems to be the best fat for ensuring the proper uptake of omega-3 fatty acids into the tissues.
This should be an essential part of a cancer diet, given the beneficial properties of coconut oil. It works in with the Budwig protocol and Dr. Budwig gave us the Oleolox Fat recipe to use as a butter substitute. It is versatile and delicious and provides an easy way to get our quota of coconut oil every day.
Dr. Budwig's Oleolox Recipe
250g coconut oil1 onion
10 garlic cloves
125cc Flax Seed Oil
Cut 1 medium sized onion in half and brown slightly in 250g heated coconut oil. Cook for approximately 15 minutes, add 10 garlic cloves and heat for additional 3 minutes only. Strain the oil through a sieve into 125ccm of Flax Seed Oil (previously chilled for 1/2 hour in the freezer). Keep this mixture refrigerated and bring to the table in small portions as required.

One of the most powerful treatments I have found, not only for cancer but for overall wellbeing and cleansing of the entire system is juicing. The benefits of fresh raw (organic if possible) fruit and vegetable juices taken every day are insurmountable.
They are packed with vitamins and minerals and living enzymes which cleanse the entire body including the colon, blood and organs. (Your liver will love you for it). They alkalinize the body thereby inhibiting cancer growth, as cancer thrives in acid conditions.
All fruits and vegetables have different properties and therefore different actions. For example, carrots are rich in iron and magnesium and are good for the muscular tissues, the brain and nerves. Apple eliminates body toxins and cleanses the kidneys and liver. Tomatoes are rich in vitamin C and also contain potassium and iodine which make them good as a skin and blood purifier also for glandular troubles and gallstones.
Take care when choosing a juicer as this is very important. There are various types of juicers on the market and you want the one which will give you the most juice with the most nutrients, and not all juicers do that.
Most juicing machines use a centrfugal action, which some believe create heat when juicing which actually destroys many of the live enzymes in the food. For this reason I recommend a juicer which uses a masticating, or mortar and pestle action for cold pressed juices which keep the vital nutrients alive for up to 48 hours. Also a masticating juicer can juice wheatgrass and sprouts. A benefit there is that you can make a quantity of juice every morning to drink throughout the day and know it is still viable as many of us do not have the time or opportunity to stop and make juice during the day.
If you have cancer or know someone who does, the best start, if you don't know what else to do is JUICE.
At least then, while you are looking for a therapy which suits you, you can start to cleanse your body of built-up toxins and give your immune system a kick start.

Wheatgrass, grown from wheatberries or wheat seeds, contains substances rich in chlorophyll, the green protein pigment found in plants, which transports oxygen to plant cells. Chlorophyll closely resembles the haemoglobin in human blood.
Wheat plants used for medicinal purposes are cut while still very young, no more than 6" (15cms) high. They are pressed using a cold press juicer, yielding a green juice that contains more than 100 vitamins and minerals, all eight amino acids, and many other essential nutrients.
Wheatgrass has more vitamin C than oranges and more iron than spinach. Enzymes essential for cell function and blood cleansing are also found in wheatgrass along with the cancer-fighting substances, abcissic acid and laetrile (vit. B17).
In the 1930's Nobel prize winner Otto Warburg, a biochemist, discovered that cancer cells cannot grow in the presence of oxygen. He found that cell mutation occurs in an environment of oxygen deprivation. (Cancer cells are anaerobic - live without oxygen).
Air pollution, smoking, fat and protein consumption, chemicals, pesticides and sedentary lifestyles all reduce the body's oxygen levels.
Warburg said any cancer therapy must increase the amount of oxygen carried to body cells.
Wheatgrass therapy does just that. Rich in chlorophyll, wheatgrass juice helps improve blood circulation, which nourishes the cells. Chlorophyll is directly absorbed into the bloodstream through the lymphatic system where the enzymes rid the body of these toxins.
Benzyprene - the dangerous cancer causing substance found in chargrilled meats and smoked fish is deactivated by the amino acids and enzymes in wheatgrass. It has also been found that the juice of green plants stops chromosome damage, a step a cell undergoes in the process of becoming cancerous.
Wheat sprout extracts destroy cancer tumours without the toxic effects of most chemotherapy drugs.
Have a shot of wheatgrass juice, either mixed in with your vegetable juice or straight, followed by a juice chaser (it is up to you how you manage to take it). I was adding it to my juice but found it not very palatable so had the shot first then the juice. As I said, it doesn't taste that good but is so worth it.
It is very easy to grow at home and costs only a couple of dollars a tray. We found some seedling trays, put in some potting mix, put the seeds on top and kept the water up. We got grass in only a few days. I found that it took a third of a tray to make 30-40ml. A shot is 30ml.
It does get mould around the germination point so I cut it at least an inch from the bottom to avoid it.

However, if growing wheatgrass is not for you, powdered wheatgrass is available so you just add a spoonful to your juice - so now you have no excuse.

The Importance of Acid/Alkaline Balance In Your Body
When I first started to look for an optimal cancer diet I came across a lot of information about acid foods and alkaline foods and the importance of maintaining an alkaline state within the body.The pH scale is a scale that measures how acidic or alkaline a substance is. The scale ranges from 1 - 14 with 1 being very acid, 7 neutral and 14 very alkaline.
It is a fact that you cannot change the acidity/alkalinity of the blood or the stomach or the intestines. The body goes to great lengths to maintain the blood at a constant 7.35 on the pH scale, the stomach is always acid in order to break down foods and when they pass into intestines the pancreas releases secretions to neutralize the stomach acid and alkalinize the intestines. If this was not so, you would encounter many health problems. The only thing you can change the acidity/alkalinity of is your urine.
When your pH is at a healthy level, your blood cells are moving freely and are allowed to 'breathe'. The fact that they are moving freely means they can easily pass through the tiniest capillary.
An acidic level on the other hand will cause the clumping of red blood cells, the result being less healthy circulation, less oxygen and compromised health in cell membranes. Energy levels drop and so does the effectiveness of the immune system.
By consuming vast amounts of acid-forming substances such as sugar, table salt, caffeine, highly processed foods, tobacco and alcohol, we are creating an overly acidic environment. Cancer thrives in an acidic environment (in an anaerobic (without oxygen) environment); conversely cancer cannot survive so easily in an alkaline (oxygenated) environment.
A very simple way towards creating an environment where your blood cells move freely and are able to breathe as mentioned before is to initially follow a diet of 80% alkaline foods and 20% acid foods. This will go a long way to detoxifying your system and enabling your body to absorb nutrients and thus start to heal itself. One known fact is that your body is always striving to heal itself so if you provide the proper nutrients it is a foregone conclusion that your body will heal itself no matter what the disease.

Detoxification
How To Do It And Why It Is So Important
Detoxification of the body is one of the first and most important steps after a cancer diagnosis.
Unfortunately today's lifestyles set us up to fail as far as our health is concerned. Pollution of our waterways, air and food, a poor diet, stress, pharmaceutical drugs, smoking and too much alcohol all contributes to a build up of toxins in our bodies, leading to a sluggish metabolism, no energy, dull hair and skin, then, if unaddressed, onto the onset of more serious conditions. You only have to look at your tongue and it will tell if all is not well inside you. If your tongue is coated then you need a body cleansing detoxification to prevent a possible lurking illness.
All these symptoms have built up over time but it is amazingly simple and quick to rid the body of toxins and cleanse and rejuvenate the whole system. All it takes is a few days if you abstain from starchy foods (bread, cakes, pasta, rice), sugars and protein (meat, dairy and eggs) and take nothing but raw fruit and vegetable juices.
Juices are extremely effective in cleansing the digestive system, colon, liver and kidneys. The intestinal flora will be changed and the colon membranes cleansed and revitalised leading to greater absorption of nutrients. Because the body has become clogged with toxic poisons, certain reactions may take place when you first start the detox. As your body would not be used to such a dramatic change in diet which starts to take effect almost immediately, you may feel headaches and other aches and pains, mood swings and perhaps a tendency to vomit. Any reaction like this, although not pleasant, is a sure sign that your body has started to cleanse itself. You will also feel hunger pains but your body will adjust and they will diminish. If you need to eat, have a salad or some steamed vegetables.
After the detox, ease back to normal food gradually. Your stomach would have shrunk and shouldn't be overburdened. A detox from time to time is very beneficial but you need a balanced diet to stay healthy. Be aware of what you put into your body for a long and disease free life.

Detoxification of the body at least once a year is essential whether you have cancer or not. It is a great way to stay healthy and prevent disease.

Chemicals Are a No-no!
Credit: Free images from acobox.comThe first thing that struck me when I started my research on healing cancer naturally was the ban on the use of chemicals. The human body is not designed to process chemicals so the liver does not deal with them, diverting these toxins and storing them in your fat cells.
When I looked further into it I found that unlike only a few decades ago, chemicals are in just about everything we eat and use.
Think about it - our main resource that we cannot live without, WATER, is polluted by industry or by governments with the addition of chlorine to kill bacteria, or fluoride to supposedly prevent dental cavities. Chlorine may kill bacteria in water but when ingested it kills the friendly bacteria in the stomach and colon. Fluoride makes bones brittle as it acts as a direct cellular poison by interfering with calcium metabolism. Also, how do we know if our drinking water contains the residue from pesticides, fertilizers, industrial wastes, herbicides or other contaminants. We don't think about it because it is odourless, colourless and tasteless.
All commercially grown FRUIT and VEGETABLE crops are sprayed with insecticides and pesticides. In the case of CEREAL crops the soil is fumigated before the seed is sown and even the seed is treated as well. When the grains reach the silos they are further fumigated against weevils and other pests. Just imagine what makes it to your breakfast cereal, bread and flour.
Take a look at the products on supermarket shelves and try and find some without preservatives, chemical additives, colouring and flavourings. Even meat is coloured to look fresh and pink, otherwise it is grey and unappealing.
What about our personal hygiene products, skin care and cosmetics. Most well known brands are full of harmful chemicals which are absorbed through our skin. Go for natural organic products.
Then there are the cleaning products we use everyday, all of which contain hazardous chemicals.
We go for years with no effects from these chemicals, completely unaware of the slow insidious breakdown of our bodies whether it be from arthritis, osteoporosis, diabetes, obesity, heart disease or cancer which hit us around middle age. All of these diseases and more are caused by poisonous chemicals.
So, to cut a long story short (I could go on for pages on this subject), the first thing I did towards healing my cancer naturally was invest in a good water purifier. You can get under the sink purifiers or plumbed in purifiers. There are choices depending on what suits you. We all need a minimum of 1.5 - 2 litres of water a day so it was a very positive thing to do in the beginning and I was able to decrease my stress meter by a notch.

My Husband Dug Up the Backyard
I thought I would probably die of starvation before cancer as I had been getting anxious and frustrated on a daily basis, coming home after an hour at the supermarket with only bones for the dog and a newspaper.
My husband, equally frustrated as his meals were not what he was used to decided he had better do something and fast, so he dug up the backyard and announced that we were going to grow our own organic veggies. I thought that was fantastic. I am no gardener but we did it anyway.
He set up a huge raised garden bed, got a load of soil delivered and we bought a magazine on organic gardening and some heirloom seeds.
I can honestly say we had a ball. We looked at what grew in what season and planted tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, beetroot, cucumbers, pumpkins, onions, radishes, lettuces, herbs and heaps more accordingly. We also put in apricot, peach and nectarine trees and a grape vine.
I couldn't believe the difference in the taste of our fresh picked food compared to the supermarket produce.
All our kitchen scraps went into the compost heap which when broken down went back into the soil. We fed the plants with organic fertilizer and believe it or not, despite the homemade recipes for insect spray we have never had to spray for pests. Lots of birds came into the garden and I guess they took care of the pests for us. Now we also have bird nests and baby birds every year.
We always produce enough for ourselves and friends and it is so rewarding just being able to step out the back door and pick delicious fresh food.

My poor husband! I was at the 'food thing' again. He was really good natured about the whole thing but at the same time I am sure his stomach was feeling threatened.
Anyway, I had to throw out refined sugar (I do not use artificial sweeteners but if you do - get rid of them), white flour, hydrogenated vegetable oils and table salt for a start.
Refined sugar has no nutritional value at all. In fact it depletes the body of vitamins and minerals, particularly B vitamins. Lack of B vitamins can produce symptoms like depression, poor memory, irregular heart beat and fatigue to name a few. It is scary to think that statistically today the average person eats over 150 pounds of sugar per year in commercially made biscuits and cakes, lollies, soft drinks, icecream, pies etc.
It is well known that sugar weakens the immune system and feeds cancer and tumours.
It made good commercial sense for manufacturers to make artificial sweeteners as a 'better' alternative to deadly refined sugar and people fell for the marketing hype. Please go on the internet and look up aspartame. I guarantee that what you read will shock you and hopefully make you throw yours out if you use them.
Excellent alternatives to refined sugar are raw honey, organic maple syrup, raw cane sugar (rapadura) or stevia which is a herb much sweeter than sugar.
Out went the refined flour and white rice and in came organic wholemeal flour and brown rice. I did find that using wholemeal flour made some things heavy so I did get organic unbleached white flour which I use for cakes, biscuits and bread. (I always make my own). Also I use organic Basmati rice when brown rice does not suit a recipe. All commercial crackers, pasta, breakfast cereals, bread mixes and instant foods went into the bin. (Just read the labels).
As far as fats and oils go, I only use extra virgin olive oil, sometimes for cooking but mostly for salad dressings with either lemon or balsamic vinegar, and sunflower oil or coconut oil for cooking. The benefits of coconut oil are so amazing. (Go to my index and look at Foods That Cure - The Benefits of Coconut Oil). And I use butter, always have, because it is a natural product and tastes so good.
Vegetable oils and margarines have long been sold as healthy because they are unsaturated fats. The nutritional value is destroyed in the manufacture of these products due to the toxic chemicals and high temperatures used to extract the oil from the seed. Most processed foods contain vegetable oils which have been hydrogenated. That process creates trans fatty acids which are difficult to digest and may cause cancer, diabetes and heart disease.
Some cancer protocols ban the consumption of dairy foods but the Budwig protocol includes it. I only buy organic milk, yoghurt and cheeses.
Table salt went out and was replaced by Celtic Sea Salt. This salt contains over 80 balanced minerals from the sea and is very good for you in that it normalizes blood pressure, nourishes the adrenal glands and maintains proper fluid balance in the body.
The salt in table salt and processed foods is sodium chloride, which has been processed at high temperatures and removes the minerals from the salt. Table salt also contains fillers like anti-caking agents and other additives. This is the salt responsible for causing high blood pressure, fluid retention, heart and kidney disease.
I always buy organic if I can. I know it is more expensive than supermarket lines but a good way to go is to buy in bulk whenever possible. Farmers markets are great and if you go regularly you get to know the vendors and can possibly strike a few good deals.
We eat lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, nuts, seeds and dried fruits. Only free range chicken and eggs, fish and no meat unless I can get organic which is rarely and very often too expensive.
I saved glass jars, labeled them and everything is stored in glass now, not plastic.
I must say that this process did not take overnight but almost a year, and I am still working on it.
When I decided to refuse chemo and radiation treatment for my breast cancer it had to be all or nothing at the risk of being fanatical (which I was accused of) but I was not about to convert other people but make myself better. In the beginning it is all-consuming and not easy to do but gets easier over time so if any of you want to do the same, be patient, it will happen if you want it to.
I am not an authority and all this information I researched myself over the last 2 ½ years. This has worked for me and I have never felt better, so I would be thrilled if it can benefit someone else.

Is The Mind Powerful Enough to Heal Cancer?
Back in 1979 my father was diagnosed with colon cancer at 51 years of age. I looked after him at home and we did everything we could in the way of diets, hypnotherapy and meditation. Unfortunately, these were the days before we had all the information at our fingertips through the internet. I devoted myself everyday to the job of getting my dad well again, but he only got worse. He died within 6 months of diagnosis but not before telling me that although we were doing all these positive things, deep down he did not think they were going to work for him. Unfortunately the medical establishment is stuck in the rut of surgery, radiation and chemotherapy and we know how successful those treatments are..........not!! So it is really up to us to be pro-active and take control over our own lives and do what we want for ourselves. If you want chemo then that is perfectly OK, if not then whatever it is you choose for yourself is perfectly OK too.

Let us look at some of the methods of testing on offer and compare safety aspects and/or accuracy.
Generally doctors offer Ultrasounds, Mammograms, CT Scans or MRI's.
Ultrasound imaging, or sonography is a non-invasive scan and does not use ionizing radiation (X-rays). Part of the body is exposed to high-frequency sound waves in order to produce pictures of the inside of the body. These images help doctors diagnose and treat medical conditions.
Although there are no known harmful effects on humans, ultrasound, for various reasons is not suitable for testing on the bowel, or on large patients and has difficulty penetrating bone, therefore is not a definitive test for the detection of cancer.
A mammogram uses low doses of radiation to scan breasts and is a diagnostic tool that screens the breast for possible problems and for hidden lumps. This test is highly promoted for the early detection and therefore prevention of breast cancer however, there are some downsides to mammograms, apart from the radiation exposure.
If a woman has high breast density then the mammogram can appear normal even though breast cancer is present, producing a false-negative result. Mammograms miss up to approximately 20% of breast cancers that are present at screening.
On the other hand false-positive results can occur when a radiologist believes a mammogram is abnormal but no cancer is actually present.
Significant stress can result from both of these miss-diagnoses, indicating that mammograms are far from ideal as a screening tool.
With CT scanning, numerous x ray beams and a set of electronic x ray detectors rotate around you. It is often the preferred method for diagnosing many different cancers, since the image allows a physician to confirm the presence of a tumour and measure its size, precise location and the extent of the tumour's involvement with nearby tissue. This is a good test but the body is exposed to radiation with this test and it is expensive.
An MRI scan uses magnetic fields, radio waves and a computer to take pictures of the inside of your body, but does not use radiation like the other scans mentioned. This is also a good test but very expensive.
Often, mammograms, CT Scans and MRI's are used when symptoms are already there, like an unexplained lump, but what about a safe, non-invasive test for extremely early detection of breast cancer, fibrocystic disease, an infection or a vascular disease and other cancers before a lump or other symptoms appear?
Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI) is such a test. DITI detects subtle physiologic changes in your body. It uses no radiation, is painless and has no contact with the body. This test allows the practitioner to visualize changes in skin surface temperature by using an infrared scanning device which converts infrared radiation emitted from the skin's surface into electrical impulses which can be seen in colour on a computer monitor.

The benefit of this test is that it can alert you to breast disease (and other disorders) much earlier than the usual self examination, doctor examination or any of the aforementioned tests.
DITI can offer protection from cancer developing by detecting and monitoring abnormal physiology years before you, your doctor, mammograms, X-ray, ultrasound, CT scans or MRI's are able to pick up anything.
This 15 minute test is valuable for alerting your GP or specialist to the possibility of underlying disease, meaning that preventative measures can be taken to stop any cancer before it develops.
