My Wonderful Cat Nicky

When I first saw Nicky,5 years ago, my heart was touched in a very special way. My vet had called the day before to ask if I could at least keep him till they could find another home for him. Being a cat lover for many years, I said:"yes,of course"

She explained that he had been abused by previous owners,who had punched,kicked and starved him.

When I went to see him at my vet's office,she explained that he had broken ribs, hair missing, and some broken teeth from his abuse and was suffering from malnutrition.

After weeks in the hospital, I brought Nicky home.I named him Nicky because I brought him home on the feast of St. Nicholas.

I have had him now for 5 years and they said he was probably 2 when the vet originally took him in.

To look at him now, you would never believe this gorgeous cat ,(who was given a second chance at life),was almost bald,in places, and so thin.The pain he must have suffered with his previous owners is simply unthinkable!

He has become the sweetest, most loving cat I've ever had!

The only thing that reminds me of the horrors he experienced earlier in his life, is a very haunted look in his eyes once in a while and once in a while a nightmare.(sometimes wimpers and cringes in his sleep)
