I loved reading Rascal's story and had to laugh at his antics...these things are always funny when they happen to someone else! (o:
I am adding this lens to Squidoo Soup For the Dog Lover's Soul

a cool lens and an even cooler dog
  • lisakleinweber Apr 30, 2010 @ 1:45 pm | delete
Thanks for the rating and roll :) I rated and rolled back :) Your dog sounds like a big goofy ball of fun, and as long as he's not eating lazyboy chairs (I had a lab that did that), I would love him.

What a handsome dog! I agree with you that if someone wants a pet, an animal shelter is a good place to start. Lensrolling this to my cute cats lens.
  • marsha32 Apr 17, 2010 @ 1:06 am | delete
    He sure is a beauty!
  • Janeofalltrades Mar 28, 2010 @ 4:17 pm | delete
He is beautiful. There are so many labs at the animal shelters. I think people get them not realizing they are a lot of dog.
  • sandyspider Mar 24, 2010 @ 9:05 am | delete
Rascal is a nice looking dog. Very nice to read about labs.

It was nice to meet Rascal and to read all about him. He is beautiful. Lensrolling to Squidoo Pets.
  • Shibamom Feb 1, 2010 @ 9:04 am | delete
Oh my gosh - this brought back so many memories. I may currently be Shibamom, but until about 8 years ago I was Zack's mom. Zack - 108lbs of total love, with an insatiable need to chew Choc. Lab. I still get a lump in my throat when I think of him and miss him so much. Even though he ate most of the siding off the garage, knocked over the Christmas tree every year until I learned to anchor it to the wall with fishing line, toppled over the gas grill in his excitement to bark at the neighbors dog. Ate a whole chicken, bones and all off the stove when I literally turned my back for two minutes.

Don't feel like you missed anything with the obedience class, we went through it, graduated (I think just to get rid of us) and he was still a big lug of exuberance, energy and happy love. Geez I miss him, wiping a tear right now.

I can't tell you how much I loved reading your lens. Thanks for the memories! Lensrolled you back X 5.

What a hilarious lens =D Rascal seems to be one happy dog and bit naughty too ( but then again boys will be boys).

Our Choc Lab "Gus" prefers the theft and consumption of tender roast pork loin robbed from the butcher block at the most inopportune time (just prior to dinner!) At 8 yrs old &100+ lbs, his insatiable appetite has claimed everything from shoes & simple loaves of bread to the most painstakingly prepared, highly delectable cuisine! To demonstrate his intellectual prowess, he has learned how to open the trash compactor and leave it's contents strewn about in all the most recognizable places. Of course he feels compelled to shed vacuum bags full of hair on a regular basis. He is an alpha male and must participate in daily conversations with all the family to make his position on the issues clear! From my perspective with Gus, I have thoroughly enjoyed this lens and for one who claims to lack confidence in their writing skills, this lens is beautifully written and had me ROFL. Thanks for your visit and comments on my lens. :~)
  • SoyCandleLover-Maker Nov 17, 2009 @ 9:31 am | delete
It's amazing what they can get in to when they really want something. I think it would be quite easy to create another dog with the fur strewn about. The writing, well, for me it's that I find myself in permanent edit mode. It's taken me 5 minutes, just to write, then re-write, this comment. I'm glad you enjoyed Rascal's lens. He helped with the subject matter, so it was a little easier than some. :D Thanks so much.

I'm happy to say that we adopted Rascal past the chewing-everything stage. I can't wait until he gets past the eating-everything part, tho. :D Thanks for stopping by.

We have 2 lab mixes and they have the sweetest personalities. One liked to chew on wood when she was a pup. She chewed the corners off my coffee table, wooden rocking chair and the kids' bunk beds. She would pull a stick of fire wood out of the pile and chew it till it was gone. She did outgrow that, thankfully! The other one liked everything plastic. Pens, cassette tapes, her dog brush. They are great dogs especially now that they don't chew on everything!

Thanks! I think have known this dog before, too. Had a smaller breed dog that I think must be passing info from the other side of Dog Heaven... :D Thanks for your visit and much welcomed blessing.

I think you will see me at RocketMoms. I was afraid of the lens a week challenge, but I've been writing 1, or even 2 or more, each week recently. :D :D
  • 24websurf Oct 23, 2009 @ 2:04 pm | delete
Rolling laughing! I believe I have known this dog.. several times. I have never found well trained dogs to have much personality though, so it has been an okay trade off for me. I am sad to say though that the "boss" in our house has quite a bit of fur. I wonder if I could train her to get a job now? ~ Blessed by a laughing Squid Angel ~!

PS ~ I am a RocketMom and will be looking for you :)

Great lens on the Airedales. Sounds all to familiar regarding the Kit's welcome to the new "invaders". :D I did rate 5 stars, and wanted to leave a guest book entry, but none found on either of your lens. Thanks for the visit.

I understand the "Hi Hi Hi" and that made me laugh! Daisy ate her bed, too. Well, she tried to so we took it away. Bless her heart, she has neither an ottoman nor permission to sleep on our bed, but she doesn't seem to mind sleeping at our feet, wherever we are (picture her to the right of my desk chair now, stretched out and snoozing on the floor). Great lens about love for a lab! Thanks for featuring mine below! (Definitely returning the lensroll, etc.)

Rascal is just beautiful and he sounds like a real pip . . . just like my lab! I can totally relate to the "social graces" and "eating habits" issues. Aren't they just the sweetest dogs, though? Ours is so great with the little ones - we can't help but love him to death! I can tell that you feel the same way - Wonderful lens and thank you for featuring my Lab lens here! 5* and lensrolled to my "Love labs? ..." lens.

Well a beautiful dog! Sounds like he's a handful ... but a wonderful one. Our dog sleeps with us, by the way. Then again, she's only 25 pounds.
