For The Love Of My Son

There are a lot of different kinds of love in this world. But there is nothing to compare to the love that people feel for the children. Even unexpected children are the apple of their parent's eyes, and that never changes.

This lens is devoted to my Christmas baby. I don't think there is another present that could ever come close to this one, for me or my husband.

The Beginning Of The Story

I feel like I need to start this out by telling you that my husband and I got married very late in life. We were both in our mid-30's when we married. Neither one of us had kids before or had been married before. We both thought this was weird at the time. Turns out there was a reason for it I guess. Because of our ages, I was 36, my husband was 35, we weren't planning on having any children. We figured we were just too old to start having babies.

The End Of The Story

We didn't really think that we needed to worry about children, so no precautions were ever taken. We got married in 2001, and Ben was born on Christmas Day in 2003.

As big a surprise as he was, my husband and I wouldn't change a day of what we've been through since Benjamin was born. Do we regret it? Never. If you ask us, we probably can't even remember life BB, before Benjamin. Does he irritate us sometimes? Definitely. Does he drive us absolutely plumb crazy sometimes? Definitely. Do we love him any less than someone who has planned for children? No way! Ben was the best Christmas present we could have ever been given, and I will always feel that way about him.

    Nice lens, I must say, three of my children was conceived on birth control and they are everything I live and breath for my husband and I. Kids are truly a blessing no matter how annoying they can get at times, LOL!

    I can relate to your story on many levels. We have a child who was conceived post-vasectomy. I also have a daughter who was two weeks overdue and born on Christmas eve. Children come because they are meant to be. Lots of love to you and yours :)
