My Dream House on the Lake

Ranked #2,186 in Home & Garden, #26,670 overall

There's something special about the atmosphere inside the log house

I had a dream. One of the most beautiful and most stimulating ones ever - and one of those rare ones that I was still able to remember after waking up that morning.

I dreamt of a beautiful Honka log house on the lake. My vision was so vivid that I decided to relive it and share it through this lens, in all the details I can still recall.

Maybe this dream page about my dream house on the lake can make you feel as good as I felt dreaming it up, or maybe you can just find a useful idea that fits your desire. Either way, I appreciate you stopping by! :)

Log cabin on the lake

Why a log cabin? Why Honka?

Log house manufacturers and sellers usually cleverly list a whole bunch of different benefits of living in a house, made of wood, a natural material.

Honka log houses, made of polar-pine-tree wood growing in Finland, go even further. They claim to be manufactured in an environmentally-friendly manner, and to have an extra long life span. Honka houses are supposed to provide a cozy atmosphere and connectedness to the nature - and more.

However, I have decided a long time ago that I'm not going to fall for commercials any longer but instead follow my heart or my gut feeling - whatever you prefer to call it. And I do.

So the reason that my dream house is Honka log house is - I walked into one of them once - and even though many years have passed by since that experience, I was never able to forget it. It was that special!

My dream house on the lake

I've been to many houses over the years, houses of all shapes and sizes and prices - in Europe and U.S. And even though many of them had features that left a great impression on me, none of them made me feel the way that that Honka log house did.

Not that I have the words to describe that feeling, but I can feel it all over again every time I think of that memory. No wonder it keeps showing up in my dreams...

Honka bathroom ideas

Here's my favorite thing about my dream house on the lake. It has two master bathrooms! One is very feminine - luxury and rich with details in color gold, bright and spacious. The other one is more masculine - simple, with clean lines, elegant and practical.

Oh, and my bathrooms wouldn't be complete without a bide.

I like my bathroom to be spacious, luxurious and feminine. Big mirrors and good lights are a must, as are storage spaces to put away all the things I use in my everyday beauty care routine.

When it comes to furniture, contemporary style clean lines, smooth surfaces and curved edges have always been my preference. No wonder these European style kitchen ideas from the pictures below very strongly resonate with me and fit perfectly into my dream log cabin on the lake.

While different shades of the same color tone make the place look elegant and sophisticated, contrasting colors make any living space attractive and live.

I visited a home in the mountains like this. It was lovely .. the wood was shiny and warm. It had a huge fireplace one could roast a whole cow in, I am sure. It was used as a summer home only so I don't think that the fireplace was ever used. I've often thought that I'd like to live there if I didn't already have a nice home. Great lens. Angel blessed.
