The Kitchen and Dining Area Evolution
Here are some ideas for the kitchen and dining area of My Dream House. One of the tricks to designing in a round house is to remember that there aren't any interior walls breaking up the space. Also, there aren't corners to put things into and you can't snug a lot of things up against the walls unless they are very low.
Wherever this part of my house is, it's going to be butting right up against the home office.

The Kitchen Of The Future
A kitchen in a small house needs to be adaptable to a variety of uses, as it often winds up being a bit of a work area and a bit of a social area. I think having the space be flexible in configuration and usage is going to be one of the key needs.

Essential Kitchen Storage
At my house we are trying to get rid of a lot of plastic in the kitchen. Although it is lighter in weight and cheaper, it is one of those items that is dependent on petroleum/oil and we need to lessen how much we use of that. Plus the world of science keeps finding more and more evidence that plastics leech toxins into all our food.
So why not switch back to something that is mostly glass, and get more sustainable and healthy at the same time? These sorts of dishes go from the oven to the microwave to the table with much more grace than plastic too!
