My experience with Squidoo

Ok, they need some more information, got it, wrote about them as well, being a nice guy.

Work in progress, Squidoo does not like what I wrote, or it is missing something.

I pushed some buttons, then publishing.

I managed to get the green plus. I have seen only 50% done. I didn't took much care about it.

Slept over it.

Ok. next morning I wokke up and seen again big red minus. And the only visitor was me.

I will write down when I understand more.

1 day after I have 2 visits
1 day after someone liked my page, I have a hunch, that was a person who I liked and posted in his comment to like me back :)

Today 12.2.2012 My lens Guide to Slovenia is featured for few days now, i even got 2 likes, then I searched in squidoo search, In squidoo is no such thing as Guide to Slovenia. Wonder why?
15.2.2012 Ranked to #67,290, now it is there. Keywords have wery little to do with order. Rank is the key i guess.
17.2.2012 Tried to contact few people with rank 50 +, got no reply
19.2.2012 rank got better for few lenses, I wonder if people actually sell something. I hope someone share the information about this.
23.2.2012 Number of visits goes down dramatically. Zero!
25.2.2012 I didn't stand still, had to change content and went liking others people lenses. Some of them liked me back.
04.4.2012 Not much activity added, rank felt down to 245000. Payout of all lenses is big fat zero. So much about squidoo.

First of all, the number of visits goes down dramatically. You start to wonder: "Is my masterpeace still here?". Yes it is still there, it might be in a list of new articles, but people are not going to see it anymore.
What happens next is that while the number of visits is going down, your rank is also increasing, which means you have to be very active in order to keep the visitors coming otherwise.
You can forget about you write an article and that's it. No, you have to keep it running. Now I understand why the articles are getting longer and longer....

Squidoo is a community filled with people, and as such they must interact. If you like them, they see you and its a big chance to like you back. Anyway I always do that. Favour for favour. In a way I learn what they are talking about and I certainly find at least one of their views I like.

Another thing, I don't think only google likes fresh content, people like fresh content, which is also nicely presented.
