Why Is It Called Fat Burning Food or Negative Calorie Food?

To explain, let's take a look at what happens when we eat. We grab a piece of food and it brings an amount of calories, but then our body needs to process that food through digestion, and to do this it must spend "body fuel" = calories.

So for example we eat 100 calories, and use 50 to digest it.

In the case of fat burning food -and to follow the example- you eat 50 calories, and then use 70 to digest eat. The result?

-20 calories.

The concept is pretty simple and just requires us to know what foods can be called "negative calorie", so let's take a look at them.

Fat Burning Food: Fruits

Grapefruit, mango, watermelon, papaya, cranberries, apples, blueberries, cantaloupe.

Fat Burning Food: Vegetables

Onion, garlic, zucchini, celery, cauliflower, broccoli, radish, spinach, asparagus, cucumber, lettuce, among others.

Is It OK to Eat Just Negative Calorie Food All Day?

This should be an easy answer right?

Well, the fact is that this type of food alone doesn't help to bring us the essential nutrients we need.

To be healthy we must have our share of proteins, carbs and fats, and the included list falls short.

Instead of just eating fat burning food, use this food when you want to eat something more, but don't want to risk adding more calories to your existing diet.

So, instead of grabbing a pack of cookies you can start eating grapefruit and you'll be losing calories!
