I love to watch inspirational movies, movies that inspire me to go and achieve my goals and my dreams. Movies that pump me up to believe that anything is possible and no matter what situation I am in that there is somebody that was in a worse situation and made it. This is a list of my favorite inspirational movies from 2000-2010, most of them are true stories.

Pay It Forward(2000)
Synopsis: Everything in social studies teacher Eugene Simonet's(KEVIN SPACEY) life is in order -- every shirt, every pencil, every person in its proper place. To keep the surface placid means never having to go deeper. And no one and nothing in his life has ever asked him to.Arlene McKinney(HELEN HUNT) is a single mother hanging on by her fingertips, working two jobs, and struggling to raise her son, Trevor(HALEY JOEL OSMENT). She is trying to give him a new life, but in her absence she is losing him.
Eugene gives Trevor's class an assignment: look at the world around you and fix what you don't like. But can you fix people?

Remember the Titans(2000)
Synopsis: Based on real events, this remarkable story celebrates how a town torn apart by friction and mistrust comes together in triumphant harmony. After leading his team to fifteen winning seasons, beloved football coach Bill Yoast (Will Patton) is demoted and replaced by tough, opinionated Herman Boone (Washington). How these two men overcome their differences and turn a group of hostile young men into champions is a remarkable portrait of courage and perseverance.

Coach Carter(2005)
Synopsis: COACH CARTER tells the inspiring true story of controversial high school basketball coach Ken Carter (Jackson). Making headlines for his emphasis on the importance of academics over athletics, Carter requests all the members of the team to sign contracts, promising to maintain a certain grade point average. When the players fail to live up to this agreement, Carter benches the entire team, locking the gym and forfeiting games to prove his point. This infuriates the community who sees this as a hindrance to the future professional athletic careers of the players. Through hard work and dedication, Carter eventually gets his point across to his team and the community, going above and beyond to ensure a solid academic future for his team.

The Pursuit of Happyness(2006)
Synopsis: Will Smith stars in the inspirational true story of Chris Gardner, a San Francisco salesman who's struggling to make ends meet. When his girlfriend Linda (Thandie Newton) walks out, Chris is left to raise their 5-year-old son Christopher (Jaden Smith) on his own. Chris' determination finally pays off when he lands an unpaid internship in a brutally competitive stockbroker-training program, where only one in twenty interns will make the cut. Gridiron Gang(2006)
Synopsis: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson stars in this gritty and inspirational movie based on a true story of a group of teenage delinquents given a second chance to redeem themselves by playing football. Sean Porter (Johnson) is a frustrated juvenile probation officer. Most of the kids in his detention camp are either sent back to prison once they leave or meet a violent end when they return to the streets. Synopsis: An inspirational drama, Akeelah and the Bee is the story of Akeelah Anderson (Keke Palmer), a precocious eleven-year-old girl from south Los Angeles with a gift for words. Freedom Writers(2007)
Synopsis: "Freedom Writers" is inspired by a true story and the diaries of real Long Beach teenagers after the LA riots, during the worst outbreak of interracial gang warfare. - Very good lens, take a look at the hip hop preacher, also very inspirational. Remember the titans made me rly motivated! Coach carter is a very good basketball movie , if you don't like the sport!

- I feel the same way about Inspirational movies. Here is a list of movies my husband and I love: Peaceful Warrior; The Blindside; A Walk to Remember; The Curious Case of Benjamin Button; Finding Forrester; Forest Gump; In Her Shoes; As Good as it Gets; Empire Falls; Somethings Gotta Give; The Bucket List; Field of Dreams; G.I. Jane; Good Will Hunting; Pay it Forward; Freedom Writers; Pursuit of Happiness; Patch Adams; Legally Blond - there are many more..but this is a pretty healthy list. Enjoy!

- All of these movies are very inspirational .. I have to say pay It Forward and The Blind Side..definitely are in my top 5 all time favorite movies!!! Thanks for sharing this lens.
