I'm a painter too, and I just can't have enough brushes.

Great choice. It would take me a lot of thinking to come up with something. Congratulations on the purple star, too.

Awesome collection for your artwork. Congratulations on your Purple Star! Your painting knife is quite unique and I see you have it in a special holder.

I can see how you would be attached to your paint brushes. Lovely, lovely lens!

    Nice one.

You know, this is a terrific lens. I have favorite brushes too. I have about 30 brushes but usually use about 4 of them over and over again. Great niche idea.

The only painting I do these days is scenery, but we still have the mural I did on Lizzie's bedroom wall when she was a baby - but, she has started muttering about re-decorating - gasp!

However, I do treasure my paint brushes and make sure they are well looked after when the girls use them.

Great selection of brushes. Nicely done! :)

You have quite a nice selection of brushes -- I have a lot of brushes, but they are makeup brushes. One of my sisters is an artist too.

That's alright, we won't really need one. Our house is blessed and safe, brushes too!
  • BigGirlBlue Jun 22, 2009 @ 12:09 am | delete
That is a lot of brushes. I hope you have an emergency transportation device to hold them all. LOL
  • Jun 20, 2009 @ 7:36 pm | delete
I paint too - you must have your brushes :)
  • stargazer00 Jun 20, 2009 @ 6:44 pm | delete
Very nice lens and a creative idea.

Ah yes, and I would give my daughter specific washing instructions for the brush, and how not to stand it in a container! Yes, it's so much easier to just let them have their own.
  • mysticmama Jun 20, 2009 @ 2:16 pm | delete
What a wonderful idea... and we Artists do become possesive about our paint brushes... it's just so hard to find and build the perfect collection, and the good ones are very expensive... I remember when my kids would ask to use one of my brushes, and I would make them promise not to this and that, and they would roll their eyes and say, "Gee Mom, it's just a paint brush." and then I would give them $5.00 to go to the store and buy their own pack of cheap brushes... and tell them "No, you can't use my brushes with that attitude!"... lol... cool lens :-)
  • Irenemaria Jun 20, 2009 @ 12:43 pm | delete
I too have lots and lots of favourite brushes. Some are so worn - there is just a few hairs left =D
  • CreativeArtist Jun 20, 2009 @ 10:55 am | in reply to WhiteOak50 | delete
" I have used them so much that the paint is worn off of the handles" I use mine a lot too, and when the brush gets a bit flayed I can still use it for scruffy work, but then it will need to be replaced for finer work. So, yes, quite a collection can build up over time. I do like the fan brush too.
  • WhiteOak50 Jun 20, 2009 @ 10:36 am | delete
Wow, I am a little envious my paint bushes do not look half as neat as your's do. I LOVE my brushes and although I have used them so much that the paint is worn off of the handles, I still keep using them!! I need to add a good fan brush to my collection. For whatever reason, I have been one for a long time but have never gotten one. Odd... Anyway, very interesting lens. Good Job!!
  • Jimmie Jun 19, 2009 @ 11:42 pm | delete
