I was a Child of the Seventies!
~Updated February 1, 2012~
Hey man! It's groovy!
I was born in 1968, so most of my childhood was in the 70's. I have so many fond memories of the toys I loved playing with back then! I'd like to share some of those memories with you.
So, come on! Ease on down the road!

Barbie
I loved my Barbies! I must have had about six or so. I know that's not a lot by today's standards, but I was perfectly happy with them! I also had a Ken and a Skipper, but nothing could beat Barbie!

I had some clothes for them, but not a huge amount. I remember my Mom and Grandma making Barbie clothes for me! I still have one of the items from this pattern! And, I have a fancy dress Grandma crocheted for her! If only I hadn't let my girls play with my Barbies, I might still have some of them, too. LOL

We were never able to afford the big Dream House, even though I would have loved to have one. I did get to play with one at a friend's house from time to time, though! Whoever had one of these was considered a very lucky little girl! LOL

Santa did bring me a Barbie Country Living home one year, though, so I was thrilled to have it! It was actually pretty cool! It started out as a square that the sides folded out on, and voila, you had a lovely, three-room house! I loved the "swinging" door between the living room and kitchen! It was also nice that it was portable! I could play in my room, out in the yard, or at a friend's house!

And, lucky me, I also had the Barbie Country Living Camper! It was very cool, too! It had doors that opened, and even a pop-out sleeping area! I spent many a happy hour crawling around and camping with my Barbies! I wish I had kept these things. :-)
