My Favourite Woody Allen Films

Ranked #24,423 in Entertainment, #298,928 overall

Woody Allen is I know a controversial figure, but there's no denying his ability at making great films. Not all have been box office hits, and some of his earlier stuff is not to my liking. But lately he has made some superb films. His latest release on UK TV, "Whatever Works" with Larry David, had me rolling on the floor ! I'm not going to go on and on here - just have a look at the films I have chosen and go and see them if you can - or buy the DVD or whatever the latest means of watching a film is now called.

The Films

This list is not of every film Woody directed or acted in, just those I have selected because I like them. I've started with the earliest and worked forwards, I hope in the correct order, not that it really matters. This will take a little time to complete - please bear with me!

(1) Play it Again, Sam (1972)

A 1972 film, written by Woody Allen and directed by Herbert Ross and featuring Woody and Diane Keaton. A neurotic film critic tries to get over his wife leaving him by dating again, aided by another married couple and his alter ego, Humphrey Bogart.

I enjoyed Vicky Christina Barcelona, especially the restaurant scene at the beginning where the main characters talk for the first time.

This was very well done. Woody Allen has got to be my all time favorite actor and director. It is very difficult to say I like one over the other. See you around the galaxy...
