Welcome to the World of Reading with My First Leappad Books!

Out of all four of my children we've seen all types of different LeapFrog products but until my fourth child we had not been introduced to "My First LeapPad Books." I must say if you haven't you are definitely missing out. This is just perfect for those little hands and since they can't quite read to themselves yet by scrolling over the picture (words) the tiny pen reads to your child.

One weekend earlier this month while out doing yard sales we came across this little treasure (My First LeapPad Learning System) with tons of My First Leappad books (5) and it got me on the hunt to look for more. Needless to say some of the books had no cartridges (2) so I'm now searching for books with cartridges and of course just the cartridges. By the way, this all cost me $8 total. Yep I know it was a steal, in fact I would've spent over $50 for all this. My goal for this lens is as we purchase (or find) more of these little books we'll keep a list and review each one to let you know what he thought and so you won't miss out on new ones.

The My First LeapPad is a small Learning system is the perfect size for your little guy or gal. It has a carrying handle on the side which is great for them to grab and go and if you have little ones you know this happens often. No more slipping through their tiny fingers and smashing to the floor. There's a big yellow speaker where they can hear the story and it can get pretty loud, which is good if you have other kids in the house. The tiny pen is hooked into the machine so no losing it. Place the book on top of the system and smoosh it into place. Push the on/off button and your child will be off reading.

"My First Leappad" reads to Him

I love the fact he can easily turn it on himself, sometimes he does need me to push the book in completely but other than that these are just right for his age.

This is a very interactive story book that'll keep your child interested in every page. For this particular story of Jay Jay High Flying Adventure it is recommended for ages 3 and up here's a list of things it'll teach:

First not all come with the cases, those that do are somewhat protected from things spilling on them. Inside the case is an area for that specific book and another just for the cartridge itself. This means everything is in one place and hopefully you won't have to search for it later.
