My Gift Ideas

Although this looks different from the intro picture, this is the same model. I am really not biased towards any form of the Skyline GTR, though I particularly LOVE this one, for it is an R33 GTR V Spec, mmmm NOM NOM! I have been dreaming about this car for a number of years and I just like to look at them. Having a model in the house, or 93284984579084571, I can look at them and visualize the day when I actually own the real thing. I suspect that even when I do have a Skyline, I will still enjoy the models, since it's just one of those things that never grows old for me.

I just like power. If you have seen any of my pages here, you may get that sense from all the pages I have on cars, where horsepower is a dominant theme. I have been spending a lot more time on my laptop as of late...ahem Squidoo...anyways, so yes, I think about computers, and ended up checking out some cool laptops, and one on a Macbook i7. I am still learning about all the tech stuff, and of course, just as I seem to learn something, it is obsolete.

I have become fascinated with the new Intel line up, and my first inclination was to find out what is the most powerful laptop processor, so I glanced at the top of the line Alienware laptops, and priced one out with all the best features for fun. It only came out to $8000.00 hehe. In the interim, I noticed the top of the line processor was the i7 2920xm Extreme, weeee that just sounds awesome!

Of course, since this revelation, there is now the i7 2960xm, though I would be very happy with the i7 2920xm, I mean come on now, this thing is compared to some of the most powerful desktop processors.

My present laptop is like 3 years old, so it's considered a dinosaur by anyone in the tech business. I am pretty sure it's a po lil single core, with a measly now, but impressive then, 250GB hard drive.

I keep hearing about these. I saw a demonstration in a video and I was really blown away by the difference the solid state drive made. I suspect a number of people think what I was thinking, which is, computers these days are pretty fast already, what kind of a difference could it make?

Well, I am going to re-post this video that I saw below so you can see for yourself. If you have a Macbook, you already are able to enjoy this, but otherwise, I think we are programmed (interesting word choice, so I will leave it) or almost imprinted to believe computers just take a certain amount of time to boot up, and regardless of what we do, during multiple programs such as a virus scan, they simply are going to have lag.
