My Internet Business WAHM

Most people work outside of the home, relying on an individual or business to provide them with a job and income to survive on. Now that it is possible to earn a full-time income from the home, more and more people are happily doing so.

Here are some tips to help guide you on your path to working from home and achieving financial independence.

1. Carefully consider each work-from-home business opportunity that interests you. There are hundreds of opportunities around right now, so never settle for something you don't enjoy. If you don't enjoy working on a particular business, then you will not work on it, and thus not make any money.

2. Approach your business venture with realistic goals. Many business opportunities make it seem like everyone who joins will be millionaires within a year. Let's get real! That'd be nice, but there's a little something called capitalism. In this case, the owners of the business opportunities are the ones who get filthy rich. Those of us who join up can certainly make a full-time income, but attaining more than that can take time. Patience is key.

3. Do some work. When you start your own business, you actually have to do some work to make money. I can't tell you how many times people think the money will start pouring in just by joining. As with anything, you will get what you put in.

There is an upside and downside to everything in life. Internet-based businesses are no exception to this rule. Here are some of the pros and cons of working from home:

PROS

1. Working from home. If you want to wear those comfy pajamas all day, then go for it!

2. Scheduling flexibility. You can fit in some hobbies, exercise and shopping each day as you see fit.

3. Limitless income potential. It can take decades for someone to reach a six figure income in the corporate world. In the online business world, it can take a matter of a year or two if you have the drive and put in the effort!

4. Sleeping in. Oh, how I love to sleep in! It's especially nice when I get sick. I can take it easy for a few days and not worry about calling in sick and losing a desk job!

CONS

1. Lonely. All of my friends work day jobs, so I'm alone during the day at the computer. Occasionally I miss the jokes and "water cooler" talk with co-workers. (I do NOT, however, miss the gossip and back stabbing of the corporate world.)

2. Self-motivation. It can be hard to stay focused at times. Some days, I get distracted and spend all day shopping on the Internet or playing video games. "Oops! Missed work today!"

So there you have it. The pros and cons of working from home. Surely, there are more pros than cons with working from home.
