My Journey Towards Squidoo Success!

Hello everyone. I can see this lens is getting a little dusty...sorry about that.

After a few months on Triond and Xomba, I decided to come back to Squidoo. I made about $50 on both websites, but I didn't feel like I was getting anywhere. I always had Squidoo at the back of my mind. But I'm here now! And I'm ready to make more lenses.

Oh, and I also cashed out at around $1 on Squidoo. It's good to know that despite not doing anything for the last 5 months I'm still accumulating some cash."

I know I haven't updated in Squidoo and created lenses in such a long time, including this journal, and I really do apologize. But I had two very valid reasons, so please don't chop me up into inactive pieces just yet ;).

Reason number one? I bought a Squidoo Book.

The Squidoo Book I bought was Squidoo Queen V2.1. Squidoo Meets Bum Marketing - Dominate Them Both!. At first I was a bit skeptical because the price was pretty hefty (although not as hefty as those $70+ programs). But after I bought it and keeping in mind the money back guarantee, I found the book quite useful! It talks about marketing techniques to help with your squidoo lens, and delves into "bum marketing", and gives a free link to a quick guide.

The book is overall very helpful. I am actually learning things that I didn't know before, and I'm not even finished with the PDF version yet! I'm going to try to implement what I learn into my lenses, so hopefully I can make some cash this way.

Oh, and if you are thinking of buying the book (link is above) feel free. Although I highly recommend against buying the offer that comes after it (the free 50+ articles that you can use at your disposal). Yes, I was a sucker for this offer but really there is no use for it. A ton of the articles are copied over and over all of the internet, and simply reposting them on Squidoo will do tons of bad for your account and reputation. I would recommend you get it only if you are planning to add it to some sales package you have.

Reason #2? I've been trying out Treasure Trooper and other Survey programs

After purchasing a program called Make Cash Taking Surveys, I decided I would try my hand at taking surveys and offers online. I figured, hey, I have all the time in the world, why not try to make a little extra cash just giving my opinion?

After Spending about 30-ish dollars on this program, I was given a log in and a website to go to. There I found lists of dozens of survey sites that are both high paying and reliable. Out of all these websites, I decided to join a few, one of them being Treasure Trooper.

Now, Treasure Trooper is probably one of the best survey sites. I think in about a week of in-and-out survey and offer taking, I have made about $13.25! (and I'll get the check once I reach $20). In addition to Treasure Trooper, I have made about 5-7$ in several other sites, giving me a grand total of about 30-ish dollars.

So in about a week, I have already made back the cash I spent to buy the program. Score!

Where does my Squidoo Journey Take me?

The survey sites are fun, and I hope to do individual article reviews about each survey website. So for now I'm going to be dedicating my time to focusing on the financial aspect of many survey sites. If I find anything that is useful for me (with proofs of checks, of course!), I will be sure to tell you guys so you won't feel out-of-the-loop with these money making programs =).

With the combination of my knowledge of survey-money, bum marketing, and the wisdom given to me by Squidoo Queen, I know I'll dominate Online Money Making!

Hello fellow squids.

This week I'd like to discuss some feelings I was having about Squidoo. I'm naturally a negative person, so these surfacing doubts didn't come as a surprise for me. However, you might find me a total pessimist, so I apologize.

When I think about how Squidoo works, I think about two things:

1. Quality of your Articles
2. The amount of Articles you have

Otherwise known as Quality and Quantity.

Now, I have been in the Article Publishing business for about five months, and I learned most of the tricks to getting myself money. However, most of these tricks revolve around getting myself traffic and getting clicks on my Google Adsense ads. Sure, I can get 100 clicks on an Article Google Adsense ads, but it won't do anything to the monthly value of the article (apart from contributing to the overall money pool).

Okay, I can get an Article to Tier 1. And sure I can get $3.00 for that article at the end of the month. But for how long? How long until this article gets kicked off the top Tier 1 list and starts to receive only $1.20 a month for being in Tier 2? Or, .50 for being in Tier 3? Or no money at all? My tier 3 Articles are already leaving the 89,000 view limit to qualify, and I have NEVER had a Tier 1 Article. As of now, anyway.

After dwelling into this dark mindset, I started thinking about bigger things. For a while now I have wanted to become an Internet Marketer. I have wanted to create a website and profit it in a way so I can get money through various ads. I also wanted a bit of money from Squidoo so I can pay off some of my college.

So I did the math. Let's say I wanted to make $1000 a month from Squidoo. That's a pretty far goal, but with the other Article Publishing veterans who are making $1000 a month on other websites such as Hubpages and Xomba, that shouldn't be too much of a problem.

So if I wanted to accomplish this, I could write up about 300 articles, all in Tier 1. Okay, well it would be stupid to think that I could own 1/3 of all the Tier 1 Articles on Squidoo. I could have 2000 articles, all in Tier 3, amounting to about .50 cents per article. Well, if I were to write one article a day, and REALLY good article to reach Tier 3, I would have to write articles for the next five years. I''d be 23 years old, and well out of college!

Then I realized I was just being paranoid. Obviously I didn't add in the factor of Amazon and eBay sales, and the traffic on Squidoo will be priceless for helping me when I start an actual website. And more traffic = more $$$.

So why am I doubting? I guess I just have to keep writing.

Hey hey, everyone. It's midnight, and I thought I would update this blog-lens before I forget!

This week I have been doing a ton of testing with the Squidoo mechanics, and I found out a TON of things that I have never known before. For example, did you know you could use HTML and CSS in each of your lenses? I've never knew that! Because of this, I have edited all of my lenses to make them look nicer (no more Text Lists that look huge and wonky; go UL/LI function!). I am also using Bold and Italicize, and I can tell my lenses are looking better already.

In addition, I have created two new lenses this week. A personal best for my laziness. Haha! You can view them below:

As for my earnings, I have yet to earn a single cent! However, I have upgraded myself to 16 likes, which is 16 more than I thought I would ever earn on only five lenses. So far, each of my lenses are Tier 3 (yes, I have learned about Tier systems too!), which is great.

Hello everyone, and I hope you had a marvelous July 4th this year. My roadway is still covered in Fireworks, and I REALLY hope the neighbors clean up their crackle-pop-confetti mess soon.

My Squidoo life has been somewhat...on hold. Ever since the Summer Heat came and took over Washington, I have been EXTREMELY lazy. And if you know me, you know that I hate the heat. It makes me irritated, and the last thing I want to do is sit and try to focus and sweat to death while my sizzling laptop toasts my face.

The result of my laziness? I haven't created any new Squidoo Lenses.

The GOOD news is my one and only lens has achieved a rank of 10,000 (apart from this one). which is damn spanking good if I do say so myself. It has gotten about 107 views in the last week, which is much, much better than I expected for any first week of Squidooing. I am well on my way to making my first cent!

In a few hours I'm going to set up my air conditioning, and once I do I'll be motivated to start writing again for all of you.

Oh, and if you have ever played Zelda: Majora's Mask, please please vote on this poll of mine, located on this lens: Why Zelda: Majora's Mask is such a Great Game. Vote for your favorite Zelda game. I know the article is a bit biased since it glorifies Majora's Mask, and maybe that's why Majora's Mask has received over HALF the votes so far, but please vote honestly. I'm just really interested in the results.

Alright, I think that's all I have to say. Squidoo is amazing and I think i'm finally getting the hang of things around here. I still haven't made any friends yet, but hopefully I can make at least one companion by the end of the month. Haha

Hello again everyone. How are you today?

I'm still trying to get used to Squidoo. There are still some things I don't understand (how to work the images, how to use each module, etc). Nevertheless, I'm quite happy with my first day results. On my first day, I have received 45 views, 39 of them from only one article! That article is my Majora's Mask theory. Other than that, that's about it for today! I've been working on a Squidoo lens, so I hope you guys like it when I release it.

I haven't accomplish much of my goals since yesterday, but I sure did shatter my 10 view goal. Hopefully by the end of this week I can receive at least some money.

For the past few months I have been working diligently. I created dozens of high quality articles, batches at a time, and essentially working my feeble mind into overdrive. After a month of hard work, things started looking up for me. I was getting about one dollar a day (and more on occassion) and I was well on my way to reaching the Google Adsense limit.

And then worst happened: My account was disabled, and all that money I saved up for the past three months were gone. Vanished. Poofed. Into the virtual oblivion.

After this I was forced to leave my article host. I used to write for Xomba, and was actually approved to be a Featured Writer under the Literature category. But after this devastating event, there was no reason for me to keep writing. I had to apologize to the staff, say goodbye to the friends I had made, and reluctantly unpublish all my articles. I had to go search elsewhere for better and more compatible article hosts. I tried hubpages. The interface and community were fine, but they had very little monetizing options for me.

And THEN I came to Squidoo. It was like the perfect package from me. The interface was great, I LOVE the motivational point system, and I'm happy that Chitika and Amazon are compatible! Now all I have to do is get writing.

I know some of you are probably wondering if i'm just a passerby, seasonal writer who will probably quit at the first hint of demotivation. But I can tell you right now that when I'm dedicated to something, I stick with it until the ship sinks. If I find Squidoo perfect for me, then I will stick with this baby and make this my home.

I'm going to be writing weekly journals recording my successes. I had a running Journal on Xomba, but I have abandoned it due to my Google adsense situation. Hopefully you guys can see (and learn, maybe?) through my personal thoughts and actions as I move along this Squidoo journey.
