Delicious Low Carb Desserts
I started doing a low carb diet a few years ago, and since then I've dropped over 50lbs and feel amazing! There just seems to be so much more energy in me. I had no clue that changing my diet could make such a big difference in how I feel. Now I don't get that mid afternoon slump at work either!
Low Carb Cheesecake!
So delicious you'll be shocked that it's low carb!
Who said low carb had to be disgusting! What's made it so hard for me to stay on a diet and lose weight is my sweet tooth. I love chocolates, I adore cakes, and I never pass up on desserts! Then I found out that you can get all that great taste and still lose weight and stay healthy. Low carb diets offer a variety of delicious, sweet-tasting desserts. In fact, there are so many that I haven't even had time to try them all!Depending on how low carb your diet is requiring you to stay, your options of low carb desserts will vary. If you're super strict, then you may have to stick with low carb muffins, which can be made from flax meal or coconut meal and a sugar substitute (like sucralose or stevia). However, if you're less strict, then fruits are also great as a dessert or if you prefer something with more bite to it, then there's always cheesecakes! Cheesecake is pretty low carb already as a dessert, but when you make it without the crust or with an almond crust and replace the sugar with a sugar substitute, then you'll have created a gem! Even many of my friends who can't bear to be on a low carb diet think the cheesecake tastes pretty good!

Chocolates!!
Then there's sugar free chocolate. For sugar free chocolate, they replace the sugar with sugar alcohol, which isn't great for you, but it's ok once in a while. I've personally found that sugar alcohol does still spike my blood sugar some, but not as much as real sugar does. If you're not a big fan of sugar alcohol and other artificial sweeteners, then dark chocolate is a great option. Try buying chocolates that contain over 75% cocoa. Dark chocolate can be quite an acquired taste, but you'll get there. Start with 75% ones and then work your way up to 80%. I personally dislike chocolates over 85%, but there are many people that really enjoy 100% chocolates! If you're into cooking, then you can even make your own chocolates. I've made truffles by blending coconut flakes or small almonds pieces into melted chocolate and then cooling them. You can even add a dash of whiskey to make some alcoholic truffles! Making Low Carb Desserts
A rewarding way to eat amazing foods!
A great way to experience low carb desserts, especially since they're not sold in many stores, is to make them yourselves. You can find a variety of recipes for low carb desserts online, including ones for the cheesecake and muffins. You'll have to buy some special ingredients since low carb cooking doesn't use normal flour and sugar, but butter and baking powder and eggs are still key ingredients. Many people have come up with ways of creating the same foods that they used to enjoy before they went on the diet but without the carbs. Be careful when you follow these recipes as changing the recipe could make it not work. For example, when cooking with coconut flour, you need to put in a lot more eggs than you normally would for baking, but this is necessary! There are a lot of recipes to try out and a lot of desserts to eat. In many ways, it's like discovering a whole new cuisine! Low carb is definitely not boring. In fact, you'll find that you learn to be creative and to work with what you have a lot of times.
Regulate Your Sugar Intake With Cereals

If there is one important thing that we possess, it is our health. If there is someone who should protect it, it is us. We shouldn't rely on food manufacturers to care for our health and well-being for us. They add sugar to everything ranging from desserts to tomato sauces. That explains the high rates of obesity and diabetes these days.
If you want to stay healthier, then you have to cut sugar intake yourself. That might sound so difficult to you but, really, it isn't. You only need to refer to the labels of the food items you buy to check if they have low sugar content or if they are sugar-free. You can instead buy low sugar cereals in lieu of those sugared cereals you usually buy. These exist in abundance in most supermarkets. However, sometimes these products are not labeled properly; therefore you should pay closer attention to the ingredients and nutritional information to make sure they won't be harmful to you.
Another item to watch out for on the nutritional labels is food coloring. Food flavoring can sometimes also be a problem. MSG has often been associated with cancer and other health problems. Additionally, it can make you eat more than you should and dehydrate you. Take note: in some products, MSG masquerades as - natural flavoring - on the labels of these products. Keep an eye out for them so you'll know what to avoid.
Delicious Desserts

Avoiding sugary drinks will also lower your carb and sugar intake. Sodas and soft drinks are a definite no-no. Even those teas and flavored waters have added sugars. That's why they taste good! However, you don't need that extra added sugar! They can add calories to your diet, thereby ruining it and your health as well. After all, these empty calories provide no nutritional value at all. You will find no amino acids, vitamins or even minerals in sugar. They will do nothing for your weight loss programs since, for starters, they make you hungry frequently. Believe me, you don't want them in your diet.
A healthy body can get its start from the healthy foods it digests. The healthiest foods are those that are unprocessed and have natural ingredients. Meats and vegetables are generally not subjected to any processing. Avoid sausages and other processed meats. Vegetables also offer a lot of variety. Although fruits have sugar content, they are excellent especially when the skin is also eaten. The skin is high in fiber, which helps to absorb some of the sugar in the fruit. In this regard, fruit juices are no different to pure sugar water. It might taste good but is definitely not good for you!
Breads also have sugar content. Come to think of it, breaks aren't really all that great even without the sugar content. The wheat used in making them is often highly-processed and bleached in order to be turned into flour. Wheat doesn't have any nutrients, to begin with. So bread is mostly just empty calories.
There's no real need to mention desserts. Nowadays, there are a lot of sugar-free desserts for sale. They may be more beneficial than those desserts you normally eat. After all, they don't have any sugar content at all. This means that you will already be eating fewer calories. However most desserts are also made from wheat products or other grain products. That means you would still be dealing with empty calories. These calories give you energy you already have stored in your body. Instead of your body's energy, the empty calories in the dessert will prevail. What you'll be left with is more fat.
It is important for your health to regulate your sugar intake. You may have a hard time at first, but once you got started, you will be able to see it through! That is one decision you will never regret.
Preparing Your Low Carb Meal Plan

You've had a good weekend but now it's time to start thinking about next week. It's quite a lot, having to decide what meals to cook, what deadlines to beat, what chores to do around the house? In fact, just the thought makes me want to go back to bed and hide under the covers.
There are some simple and easy fares that you can choose for your breakfast. There is cereal, for instance. Most mornings I choose to eat low carb cereal since I am on a low carb diet. I use cold coconut milk for my cereal. I can prepare it in no time at all. It is also safe to serve this to your family members. Your entire family can enjoy this simple breakfast together.
I think that, for lunch, salad is one of the best options. You can choose those ready-made salads or you can choose to make them yourself. Salad bars are often found within close proximity of offices and business establishments. You can personally choose your salad ingredients and the dressing. You will be faced with healthy options and not so healthy ones. Putting cheese in a salad and topping it off with a sweet salad dressing isn't a good thing. Low carb dressings include ranch and Caesar, but I suggest you use olive oil and red wine vinegar for the healthiest salads. Olive oil and red wine vinegar are the healthiest dressings for salads although ranch and Caesar dressings are low carb. I like to make sure I eat plenty of protein as this will fill me up for longer. You can add eggs, tuna, chicken or salmon usually. Also add lots of green vegetables. Asparagus, spinach and broccoli are all proving to be wonderful additions!
Dinner is a rather complicated hurdle. You are extremely weary after putting in a whole day's worth of work. You want food, right here, right now. To immediately appease your hunger you settle for some fast food or restaurant takeaway. This could cancel all that great work you did throughout the day to be healthy! What should you do then? One suggestion I can give is to cook food over the weekend that you can simply heat up each night for the coming week. This means that you will still get delicious and nutritious home made foods but don't have to slave over a stove after working a ten hour day!
There are lots of recipes you could scale up to make a large batch over the weekend. Try chili without the beans and the cornbread. You can consume a large pot of chili over the following week. Another option is beef stew. You'll be having a much easier time since you can put this in a slow cooker overnight. You can also prepare chicken tikka masala and store it in the fridge, only to be taken out when you need to eat it.
Are you worried about dessert? Dessert can be difficult, but there are some low carb desserts that you can make yourself. If you want to make baked goods, you can use the ingredients such as flax meal, peanut or almond butter, and coconut flour. These products can range from cookies to muffins to pancakes. There are also a variety of sugar-free jams and syrups that you can eat with these. You may also choose to make low carb cheesecake. Cheesecake is pretty low carb already, so all that's really required is switching out the sugar in the recipe. Although you have prepared one whole cake, a slice a day will suffice.
And there you go, there's your week already planned out for you! It may not be simple, but it's doable!

Low Carb Desserts Do Exist

Sugar is one of the foods that people always crave! That craving seems to be biologically ingrained in us. During the prehistoric times, sugar was in very short supply so it came as no surprise that foods containing sugar, such as berries, were eaten a lot. It is different these days, though. We now eat way too much sugar, because we have access to cakes, sweets, donuts and chocolate on a continuous basis. You cannot possibly avoid sugar, even.
People who want to lose weight and avoid sugar go for low carb diets. But don't you find it excruciatingly hard to turn your back on all those sweet, great-tasting pastries and cookies that you've grown up with? That's why low carb desserts can be so essential for a low carb diet. Instead of grabbing that sugary cookie when you crave desserts, you instead can eat a healthy cookie that contains no sugar but yet is just as fulfilling!
You're probably amazed right now and wondering if this could possibly be true! But low carb desserts are very, very real, and they are here. They can be eaten every day when your fancy strikes you. I love taking muffins and cookies to work with me to have as a snack during those long afternoon hours. You will never run the risk of running out of low carb food, since they are very easy to make and store. Use ziplock bags or small containers, and you can easily bring them along while travelling.
More on Cake

Where can you score these low carb desserts? Desserts and other food items that are reasonably low in carb are now being sold in many places; however, low carb desserts are still a rarity in most stores. Homemade low carb desserts are the way to go then. The recipes are very similar to normal dessert recipes and usually just requiring a bit of mixing and baking in the oven. This will ensure that only the healthy ingredients get into your muffin.
But you might get to thinking: how can something with no sugar still be sweet? That is where artificial sweeteners come in. As an alternative to sugar, honey, and agave, artificial sweeteners are safe and have zero carbohydrates and calories. They usually taste just like sugar, especially in baked goods. You can choose from a wide selection of artificial sweeteners in the market. A personal favorite is the main ingredient in Splenda, which is called sucralose. It is very easy to use and tastes exactly like sugar. There have been no substantiated health issues reported about the product, which isn't surprising since it is almost the same chemical structure as sugar!
Flour cannot be used in baking low carb desserts; that is why there is a need for a few different ingredients. Coconut flour and flaxseed meal are common alternatives to use. Coconut, in particular, has earned a lot of supporters among low carb dieters. It contains healthy fats, low carbs and tastes great! You will often see low carb baking recipes having coconut milk and desiccated coconut in its lists of ingredients. Similarly, another good and healthy addition to your baked goodies are nuts. A lot of cookies nowadays are sprinkled with peanut or almond butter.
