My Personal NaNoWriMo Experience

My name is Stephanie, and I'm trying to take on a goal of 50,000 words in National Novel Writing Month. As a college student, it's going to be hard for me to have time to write. Last year I failed miserably, but I'm hoping that this year I can win with at least 50,000 words, even if I don't get a full novel out of it! Follow along my journey for the 2010 NaNoWriMo!

What My Novel is About...

A little bit of a plot summary...

Well actually, I'm not 100% sure what my story this year is going to be about! I do know though, that there will be a love triangle (come on, it's no fun without one!!!), and maybe ghosts! So, we shall see what happens this November!

Writer's Tip 1:

Writing a plot can be hard. It works if you just write as you feel and don't go in order. You can always go back later and fix it! It's NaNoWriMo, so just write without chapters and boundaries!

Writer's Tip 2:

Plan out your characters before hand. It doesn't hurt to write detailed biographies of each important character (and even the minor ones too!).

Suggest a title!

Have a title idea?

Well, you've read the summary for my story. Now, I'm lost on a title idea. Help me out (or others who might want a title!) and suggest a title!

Do you think NaNoWriMo helps with writing?

Maybe you think that it's just a waste to write and not care what you write, or maybe you love the idea of letting your writing go and fixing it all later. Give your opinion here; choose your side!

Yes! It's great because...

No, it's pointless because...

Writer's Tip 4:

Subplots are your answer to everything. If you are having writer's block, just pull out one of your subplots and explore into it deeper. It takes up words and makes your story more interesting!
