Why Organize Your Purse?
I simply must organize my purse! How about you?
My house is filled with important sentimental possessions. From my mother's diary to all the baby pictures to my husband's wonderful scrapbooks, each one is important. In an emergency, I would not know which to grab first! But when I was asked, which item would I save in an emergency- I finally decided that in a true emergency, fleeing my home, I would grab....................my purse! Like most women, my purse is my survival kit!

Identification
How can I prove who I am?

My wallet was stolen a few years ago. I well remember the feeling of not being able to identify myself. Everything was in my wallet, it seemed - my driver's license, my health insurance cards, my birth certificate card. Since that time, I keep a back up copy of most things.
I remember that day -- walking into our bank -- and the absolute relief when one of the tellers called me by name! Identification is important !
Access to Cash

I rarely carry cash with me, but my purse would provide my checkbook and a credit card. And after all, regardless of the emergency, we do need some means of purchase for necessities!

Insurance Cards

My purse also contains my links to health care - my precious insurance cards. And yes, I do have backups of those. But in the event of an emergency, I would definitely want my insurance cards with me!
Calendar

I also have a calendar in my purse - so even in an emergency, I would know what appointments need to be re-arranged! Yes, I would most definitely want my calendar with me!
First I look at the purse
Cell Phone

My trusty cell phone stays in my purse. And I also have an extra charger in my car. My cell phone includes all my important telephone numbers, too! Doesn't yours?
Cosmetics

Yes, my purse holds my emergency cosmetics - a lipstick, a compact - just the basics. I also have a small hairbrush. If I added a toothbrush, I could probably manage for days with these personal basics.
The Keys!

Of course, my keys are in my purse - right where they belong! (This is a fantasy emergency, remember!)
Cures

I just looked -- My purse includes a full array of drugstore meds - not prescriptions but quick cures for headache, indigestion, and other minor aches and pains. I also have cough drops and breath mints!
Thank you! These lenses provided much needed help!

Dear, dear Joan! I lived and worked on the go for many years; my purse and laptop briefcase were all I really needed to travel from home to the Far East or the next state. If I'd lost my purse I would have been devasted and stranded - all the essential you carry are in there plus my passport, water bottle, music player and backup eyeglasses! Thanks for the feature of my Clip Art lens (and use of my purse and high heel shoe graphic to icon this lens - it's one of my faves!).

in reply to GrowWear Oh what a joy to have honest folks find your wallet. Sadly the folks who took mine were already shopping when I called the credit card company! The police never did actually catch them though. Glad I was not held liable anyway. Scary scary stuff!

Your purse is officially renamed Survival Bag! How do men get along without one? A few months ago, I left my wallet on my bumper. ...What a night that was once I found it missing. Even drove my path back that night -- at 3am or so. No sign. Morning light came; I was about to go look again when the phone rang. A father and son had found it in the road on their way to breakfast. Boy, did that make a depressing day turn into a day of sunshine!

Yes, depending on the emergency, I would have to say my purse would be one of the first things I would grab (after the kids and the four legged furry family members of course!). I really like the clean lines of this lens, well done!

Since I don't carry a purse this was very entertaining...reminded me of that old song, myabe it was Ricky Nelson about not being able to find the keys, but everything else is in the purse:)

Of course, my purse! I didn't even think of that but it would be the first thing I would grab.

The purse is a given when I run out the door! In fact, I feel empty without it when I take the dog for a walk! Fabulously lovely lens, Joan, and a great topic!

You are definitely right, Joan. Of course, we need to grab our purse. This is a great lens. I love the graphics and borders and really enjoyed the tap dancers. Great work.
