Quick and Easy Weight Loss Tips

Our body weight is made up from to distinct parts - fat tissue and fat-free tissue. That may sound pretty obvious but things tend to make more sense when you break them down ito their simplest form.

The main goal of any weight loss program is to get rid of the fat tissue without losing the fat-free tissue.

And just to labor a point fat free tissue are things like muscles, tendons and organs (like your heart). so the last thing we want to do is risk and damage to that.

So the best way to lose weight is to build a healthy diet that can help you lose the fat tissue but retain the very important fat-free tissue.

Quick Weight Loss Tips

What is the best way to lose weight and keep it off?

Take it slowly and don't focus purely on quick weight loss. The people who lose weight gradually - 1 or 2 pounds per week - are the ones who will keep the weight off permanently.

Assess your current behaviors and pick a few things to change first. Gradually add new goals to aim for change. Reward yourself (not with food) for achieving your goals.

Keep Active. Physical activity is a mandatory component of losing weight and keeping it off. Start by incorporating small changes into your routine. For example: park your car farther away than usual, take the stairs instead of taking the elevator, walk the dog, find a friend to walk with, plan outings that involve physical activity.

Create a healthy diet - do not skip meals. Skipping meals will ultimately slow down your metabolism, which in turn will result in weight gained instead of weight lost. Many people make the mistake of skipping meals as they assume that one less meal should help them lose weight. Skipping meals will promote overeating at other meals and it will eventually make your body more efficient at storing calories instead of burning calories.

Increase your fiber intake. Include at least five servings of fruits and vegetables every day. Fruits and vegetables are high-fiber, nutrient-dense, low calorie foods that are great with meals and for snacks.

Choose a diet low in fat, saturated fat and cholesterol. You do not need to go overboard cutting out your fats. Aim for 30 percent of your total calories from fat.

Keep in mind that if you want to lose a large amount of weight, it may take some time. Always keep a positive attitude. It will go a long way towards your success.

Choose a variety of foods that are higher in fiber and nutrients and lower in fat and calories. Make changes that you will be able to keep for a lifetime of weight maintenance and fitness.

Ultimately, quick weight loss is possible but you need to attack from a health and nutrition angle - give your body what it needs andit will respond with gratitude (and fairly easy weight loss).

You are absolutley correct. I have changed my eating habits to more sensible foods with portion control and have lost weight slowly but steadily. I make a more conscious effort to eat more fiber. I have lost 18 lbs since January. Great Advice!
