This year Christmas came early for me. My husband presented me with a Samsung Galaxy Ace and jokingly told me that it was a gift for me for this Christmas, next Christmas as well as two birthdays to come! I am in love with my Samsung Galaxy Ace now and I am going to tell you why in this lens. In other words, I shall write a Samsung Galaxy Ace Review.
This Samsung Galaxy Ace Review shall be a very simple layman sort of review. I won't be concentrating or writing very much about the specifications and other technical things like that. I think you can get those from tech review sites as well as from Samsung. Instead, I am going to tell you what its like to use the Samsung Galaxy Ace for the first time. I think that will be more valuable for someone considering whether the Samsung Galaxy Ace is suitable for them.
I must say, that I had wanted a tablet computer for a long time. I still haven't got a tablet computer yet, but this Samsung Galaxy Ace is the next best thing. It puts so much power in your palm for an affordable price. It is very worth while.

I have not owned a Smart Phone before
This is my old phone. Its a Nokia. Its really, really old and outdated as you can see. I didn't see the need to upgrade the phone as long as it could make and receive calls.My old phone was really outdated. I guess you could call me a techy sort of person since I have been blogging for 7 years. I have 5 blogs and 60 Squidoo lenses. This one makes it 61. I also make use of Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and Google+ regularly. However, that was how my old phone looked. It didn't even have a camera but that was ok with me. It certainly didn't have the ability to access FB or Twitter on the go but I'm not a FB or Twitter addict, only a Squidoo one.
It was not that I had any sentimental feelings towards my old phone. I just didn't think it was worthwhile to upgrade. However, now that we have Smart Phones, I DO think it is worh while to upgrade. Yes, it definitely is worthwhile because you can do so much more with your phone now.
The Smart Phones of today is so very different from the old handphones of yesterday... and it is here to stay.

Merry Christmas! I took a photo of this grand Christmas tree at a Shopping Mall. I think it looks lovely as a wallpaper for my phone. I removed most of the icons so that I can enjoy my picture without distractions.However, the best part is, I can have multiple homepages. This homepage is the one with minimal icons. I have another homepage for regular contacts, one for news, one for my emails, and one for my apps.
I can't stop playing with my new phone. So many things to learn. So much power in this little thing.

I can get many free apps from my Samsung Galaxy Ace phone
After familiarizing myself with my new Samsung Galaxy Ace, I immediately went shopping. Only, I didn't have to pay for my purchases.I can get many free and fantastic android apps from my Samsung Galaxy Ace phone. There is a little market icon that you can click on to go shopping for apps. It looks like a little shopping bag. So I went on a shopping spree for apps.
I found this magazine app. I love it and will talk about it a little later on. I also got a learning Chinese app for my kids. It was a free Chinese and English bilingual audio book.
Its fantastic. There is no turning back now. I am hooked on my new Smartphone!

I took this photo last night from my Samsung Galaxy Ace camera. Its beautiful isn't it? I meant my Samsung Galaxy Ace phone.Its beautiful indeed that such a little thing can take lovely pictures like this. Its a 5 Mega Pixels Camera by the way.
The camera has many settings. Its just like a regular camera. I don't need to remember to bring my heavy camera for ocassions anymore. Its so convenient. I can take pictures indoors or outdoors, during the day or during the night. The results are quite nice as you can see.

My Samsung Galaxy Ace has a Swype Keyboard
When I first started with my Samsung Galaxy Ace, I used the regular Qwerty Keyboard. I didn't realize it had a Swype Keyboard.
I wasn't used to it the normal Qwerty Keyboard at all. I kept on typing the wrong letters. I guess my finger pads must be rather fat.
With Swype, I can get the words correct most of the time. It guesses what I want to type. I can key in favorite nicknames and words that I use regularly to get Swype to recognise it. It adds punctuation in for me. I don't have to key in "don't" for example. I just key in "dont" and I get "don't".
It makes my typing for emails, sms, whatsapp, for facebook, twitter and google search really fast. My only complaint? Its making me lazy!

Teething Problems with my Samsung Galaxy Ace
While trying to update my phone software, I somehow lost my SD Card or rather the phone or software could not locate my SD card and therefore could not find any photos in my galery. I fiddled around with it a bit and to my horror, the screen turned black!
The thing about smart phones and digital photos and such is, it really can be quite scary how you can lose things in the blink of an eye of you are not careful. You have to be a little 'smart' yourself to handle a smart phone. By that, I mean you need a little basic knowledge but its not that bad really. Just get the man at the store or a tech savvy neigbour, friend or relative to help you.
Fortunately, I got back everything in a few clicks. Phew!
I also tried to download the Google+ app. I do love Google but it freaked me out, how well it knew me. So I deleted that but I kept my iGoogle bookmark and my Google Gmail around for easy access.
In fact its quite astonishing and remarkable how well my phone knows me just by adding and putting a few accounts in sync.
If you do run into problems with your new Samsung Galaxy Ace, and like any tech product, you may encounter some challenges at one time or another, you can join a Samsung Galaxy Ace Forum to see if you can find the answers to your problems there.

Other Cool Features On My Samsung Galaxy Ace
There are so many features on my Samsung Galaxy Ace. However, I am not using all of it. I find that some of it is sufficient for me. However, users may be interested to know that ...The Samsung Galaxy Ace has Voice Recognition. You can say "Call Mr X" or "Message Mr Y" and it will open up the relevant contact for you to call or send a message to. However, sometimes it fails to recognize my pronunciation.
The Samsung Galaxy Ace also has handwriting recognition. However, I find the Swype Keyboard so useful, I do not need to use this feature.
You can easily shift between English, Chinese, Korean etc keyboard with the touch of a key. This is great for the multi-lingual user.
The Samsung Galaxy Ace has AllShare. This is really a very cool feature if you have other AllShare devices like a Samsung TV
, for example.AllShare is Samsung's content sharing service that allows you to enjoy multimedia content like photos, music and video that has been saved on your mobile phone on your TV or stereo system. Your mobile phone will then act as a remote control. You can also enjoy multimedia content from your PC or laptop on you TV or Hi-Fi by using your mobile phone like a remote control. Thats truly amazing. Unfortunately I can't use this feature because I don't have a Samsung TV.
