I have visited San Antonio on a couple of occasions. The riverwalk is lovely, but the Alamo is simply not to be missed. There is a short film they show about it - it was shown in another building across the street when we were there - is amazing to see BEFORE your tour. If that movie will move you, and I mean deeply.

I broke out San Antonio into its own deserving lens. It still points to you as THE authority (at the bottom).

You are so awesome for doing that!

My thoughts about San Antonio were very disorganized and fragmented and I did not have enough for a complete lens. Thankfully, I found your wonderful Lens that expressed the essence of San Antonio completely along with a lot of great trip planning information. I took the liberty of a link to your Lens. If there is any problem with it or the write-up please let me know. _ Sonny

When we lived south of San Antonio, in the Rio Grande Valley, we made a number of visits to San Antonio. Lovely city. You've pointed out some areas that I've missed, so may have to plan another visit.

the bit about God creating August so the tourists would leave... that's funny, and very much a regional thing. In Seattle, it is said that God created summer so the tourists would show up and fall so they would leave (and go back to Texas?) :) Very comprehensive and nicely done. SquidAngel blessings.

I was there once and just loved it. Austin is a great city too, but San Antonio was my favorite. The riverwalk alone is a great attraction.

I LOVE San Antonio! I spent about a month there one SUMMER for business and fell in love with everything. It was hot and humid, but everything else made up for it - the people, the food, the shopping, the sites. I would love to go back soon, but definitely not during the summer again. I started listening to country music down there and still listen. Great lens - thanks for a little armchair travel.

My 10-year-olds were just learning about the Alamo for school. The riverwalk pic is so pretty. Your brother's wedding must have been beautiful in that old church. 5***** and featured on my Paris lens :)
