Sharing the Truth About Sensitive Skin Care

Sensitive skin care experts say that sensitive skin is the most beautiful skin, type or it can be made so.

But, caring for skin that is easily irritated or hyper sensitive is definitely not easy or simple! Many sensitive skin care products end up causing more problems than they solve. Amazingly, very few dermatologists or skin care experts know how to help people who are hyper sensitive to everything.

It can be downright discouraging, and I know, because I've struggled with sensitive skin for most of my adult life. What to do then, if even the so called gentle, hypoallergenic products end up causing your skin to break out?

If you are troubled by this kind of hyper sensitive skin, all is not lost! I've discovered some sensitive skin care secrets that will help you to develop radiant and healthy skin. No, I'm not going to sell you a bunch of expensive products. In fact, most of these secrets are absolutely free and available in my free eBook.

What Are The Products To Be Avoided While Dealing With Sensitive Skin?

Caring for sensitive skin doesn't need to be difficulty, if you know what kinds of products and product ingredients to avoid. Studying our safe cosmetics guide can help you to learn some surprising truths about hypoallergenic and sensitive skincare products.

It is recommended that you avoid those skincare products that do not mention their list of ingredients clearly. You must know what ingredients you are putting on your skin and what your products contain. Common ingredients like fragrance, parabens, propylene glycol, petroleum byproducts, formaldehyde, aluminum, triclosan, mineral oil and artificial colors can irritate sensitive skin, and even cause health problems for some sensitive people.

Not many people know that the artificial fragrance is one of the top five allergens, and not only can cause allergic reactions and skin irritations. but can cause neurological problems. Petroleum and mineral oil products can trigger cancer development and are also linked with various allergies.

Did you know that even organic and natural skin care products can cause breakouts and skin inflammation? The reason for this is the same reason that some people develop hay fever. For some people, certain plants, herbs or botanical ingredients will trigger allergic reactions and skin breakouts.

Plants and herbs are potent medicines and when you apply herbal products to your skin, they are absorbed and can affect your whole body. Some herbs can even interact with medications you may be taking! It is wise to be very careful with the herbal and plant products you apply to your skin.

Sensitive Skin and Mineral Makeup: Is It a Good Combination?

One of today's hottest cosmetic products is mineral makeup. While it provides a wonderfully natural look, is it compatible with sensitive skin? If you have very sensitive skin, you may be somewhat leery of any makeup by now. However, if you follow these tips, you will have a much better chance of finding the best mineral makeup for your sensitive skin.

Read the Ingredients

While you may think that this type of cosmetic product only contains all natural ingredients, there are several that do not. Make sure you read the ingredients before you try the product. If it contains dyes, fragrances, carmines, propylene glycol, bismuth oxychloride, or petroleum derivatives, then it's best to avoid these formulations. They can adversely affect sensitive skin and can cause irritation, redness, or acne. There are several products that only contain all natural ingredients.

Avoid Nanoparticles

These are pulverized or crushed (which is also known as micronized) titanium dioxide or zinc oxide. You may be exposing your body to health risks with these particles. They may be absorbed into your body, inhaled, or even ingested. While both of these substances are quite acceptable if they are in their natural state, you want to avoid any makeup that contains these nanoparticles. In fact, in their natural state, these two substances have anti-inflammatory properties, which can really help with sensitive skin irritation.

Apply Correctly

Some women find that this type of makeup seems to emphasize their wrinkles. It could be that it's due to an improper application of the product. It's very important that you practice the techniques needed to correctly apply this specific type of cosmetic. Otherwise you may also end up with some ashy undertones as well.

A Final Thought or Two

Mineral makeup can really be a wonderful product for sensitive skin, as long as you research the ingredients ahead of time. Learning the proper techniques for application will improve the finished look of this cosmetic line. There are many other benefits for using an all-natural, hypoallergenic product and you're sure to love the look of your skin!

Top 5 Things You Must Know About Sensitive Skin Care

I know that having sensitive skin can be a real pain! I mean, you put on a nice, hypoallergenic face cream, hoping to look great, and instead, your face breaks out and the next thing you know, your face resembles a tomato!! :( What can be done? These five tips can help you to care for your sensitive skin and hopefully avoid any more tomato episodes!!

First, you need to develop a good relationship with your skin by listening! See what kind of products, foods and environments work best for your skin, and which can cause skin inflammation. Create your own personalized skin care routine.

Try to figure out exactly what the problem is. You may need the help of a dermatologist or health practitioner to see if you might have eczema, hives, acne, rosacea, allergic dermatitis or other skin problems.

Be careful what you put on your skin! Applying any cream or ointment to your skin is as good as eating it. Your entire body is absorbing it and your entire body is going to be affected positively or negatively. Sensitive skin needs purity and mildness in the products you apply. Even some natural foods and herbal ingredients can cause inflammation on your skin. Some people who are allergic to plants may do better with salicylate free products which are extremely mild and non irritating. Sensitive skin care is not limited to your your face! If you are sensitive to many skin care products, I recommend you consider using a non-irritating hypoallergenic shampoo as well.

Doing skin test can be a wonderful tool to help you avoid allergic reactions from any skincare product. I even do a skin test when using homemade skin care recipes! Simply apply few dabs of the product behind the ear or on the inside of your wrist. Wait around 8 to 10 hours, and if your skin doesn't react, you will likely do all right with that product. Remember to do a skin test even for the mildest looking creams.

Last but not the least; your diet plays a crucial role in the sensitivity of your skin to external allergens. Do not underestimate value of good nutritious diet and make it a part of your daily health and beauty plan!
