Solar Powered Generators For Home

Why should you buy a solar generator for your home?
Well, what WOULD you do if you had no power for any extended period of time? Have you ever really thought about it? How would you cook? How would you heat or cool your home, or watch the news? The time to start thinking about this is now BEFORE you are faced with your own emergency. A solar powered generator won't solve every problem you face in an emergency, but owning a solar generator will ensure that you have an UNLIMITED SUPPLY OF FREE ENERGY that is compact & portable - your own personal solar power source that you can pick up & take it with you allowing you to create your own solar power wherever you are. Today owning a portable solar generator is not considered a luxury - it is considered a necessity!

Already this year (March 2011) almost every part of our country has been affected by some sort of weather issue that has caused large scale damage & power outages. Just off the top of my head there has been wide spread tornadoes in our mid section, blizzards across the north east, and devastating floods. Today as I write this Japan is experiencing devastation on a massive scale not only from the earth quake itself, and then the tsunami - now they are dealing with a nuclear meltdown on top of all the other devastation. At this point right now today - days after the quake Japan is in such upheaval that her people are basically left on their own to fend for their selves!

It is for this reason that I am creating this lens today. As anyone who has visited any of my other lenses knows, I am all about natural living & being self reliant. I feel very strongly that EVERY family should have at least one solar powered generator for their home. It bears saying again - a solar generator is no longer considered a luxury - it is a necessity! To get the facts about solar generators, as well as why solar powered generators are so superior to gas & diesel generators, and which one I chose after researching them all, please continue reading below.

The Top 5 Reasons To Own A Solar Generator

What Are The Benefits?

Portable solar generators allow you to grab your power source and go at a moments notice, if needed. A bonus feature of the solar generator is that you don't have to use it only in an emergency.

1. Many people take their solar generators with them in order to have power while camping, on RV trips, or to power up a remote cabin in the woods. They are also small enough to easily fit into the trunk of your car.

2. Solar generators are far superior to gas generators - (learn how below). Solar generators are silent - no loud noise, no toxic fumes, no gas cans to drag around looking for some place to get more gas in order to power your generator.

3. A Solar generator will produce continuous power by recharging itself continually, allowing you to use your solar generator and charge it at the same time - like using a cell phone while it's on the charger. It even continues to store & produce energy on cloudy & overcast days - full sun is NOT a requirement.

4. This solar generator is so easy to use it is truly a matter of plugging in an appliance to power it up. Some of the things your solar generator can power up include your frig., computer, TV, heater, phones, coffee pot, lights, water purifiers, etc.

5. The solar generator creates free energy for you for years to come. Many people even use it year round to power heavily used appliances for free, cutting the cost of their energy bill, and by doing so your solar generator will even pay for itself by lowering your energy bill every month.

Solar Generators vs Gas Generators

Which One Is Really The Best?

G rowing up on the Gulf Coast we knew how to prepare for a major emergency. Stock up on food, gas up your car, fill the tub with water, break out the generator and get ready to ride out the storm. I was a little girl when Camille hit the coast. It was the first time and only time we ever left. It was so bad local residents were not even allowed to return for two weeks after the storm had passed.

During that time (and long after in many places) among other things there was no power. You really can't appreciate exactly how much you depend on power until you don't have it for an extended period of time. It is really something that every single one of us takes for granted every single day of our lives! But in an emergency or natural disaster, you can't just flip a switch and have light, heat, cool air, hot water, or even clean drinking water for that matter - because the water treatment plants all rely on power to provide us with clean drinking water.

While gas generators were around at the time, most people couldn't afford them, but even if they could they really weren't that much help - the same holds true even today. You see, a gas or diesel generator only works as long as you HAVE gas/diesel to keep it running! And during any kind of major disaster that takes out power - the gas pumps don't work without power either! No gas - no generator, it's just that simple. What you've really bought is a big bulky piece of equipment that just sits there taking up space - waiting for the power to come back on so you CAN pump the gas to run it - while you're STILL left sitting in the dark - with no power source.

Further still, say you did have a supply of gas stored up - you can't run it indoors any more than you can run your car indoors, because just like your car it puts out deadly carbon monoxide. It is also VERY loud, so in an emergency when everyone else is without power your very loud gas generator is telling everyone within ear shot that you DO have power - or at least a generator - so someone has to stay up all night to make sure that your power source doesn't get stolen.

Ans yes, I know Katrina was SO much worse than Camile. Everything I remember growing up that Camile didn't take out just disappeared in the blink of an eye with Katrina - some people still haven't recovered - but I don't want to get off topic. This lens is not about coastal hurricanes, it is about helping you to understand the need to be proactive when it comes to protecting your family. You have car insurance in case you have a car wreck - you should also have a solar generator to ensure that your family will always have power.

Another BIG Reason To own A Solar Generator

Soon smart meters will tell the power co. if we are complying with their guidelines for power usage & times of usage. When we don't, we will have to pay more for our power - ALL of the power we use for that month as a penalty. The cost of these smart meters will also be passed on to us as consumers. So just when everyone is trying to cut back on expenses, our monthly power bills are all about to increase - ALL LOT! SO HAVING THE ABILITY TO CREATE YOUR OWN POWER HAS NOW BECOME AN ESSENTIAL!
