Welcome to My Squidoo Tips 3

This Squidoo Tips lens will talk about how to lensroll and how to rate a lens. I remember when I first started out, I couldn't find out how to do the simple task of lensrolling.

How to Add a Lens to your Lensroll

Lensrolling is a way to create your own personal lens network. List your friends' lenses, relevant lenses on your topic, or even link to other lenses of your own.

On the right side of a lens page there is a section called awelldressedbullet Recommends (just under "Related Topics". When you lensroll a lens, this is where it ends up.

Look over here ------------------------------------------------------------------->
  1. First, you must be signed into Squidoo.
  2. Go to the lens you want to add to your lensroll.
  3. When you are on that lens, look over on the left side of the page. Look under Save and Share.
  4. Click on Lensroll and follow the prompts (you will be asked which lens of yours you want to add this to).

When you return to your lens, you will now see this new lens added to the column on the right, which is your lensroll.

Lens you Lensrolled not showing?

If you added someone's lens to your lens, and it is not showing on your lens, here is a quick fix.
  1. Go to your lens, and click on "Edit ths lens"
  2. Glance down under "My Lensroll" (right side of page)
  3. You should see the lens you just added at the bottom of the list

  4. Click on "Publish" (of the lens)
  5. Click on "View this Page" and you will see that the lens is now showing on yours.

How to Rate a Lens

We all want everyone to show us some love! Well ok, this means some stars! LOL

If you enjoy a lens, let the author know by rating their lens. You could have found it interesting, funny, or it's just so pretty.

1. You have to be signed in to rate a lens.

2. Click on one of the stars, 1 to 5, beside "Your rating" on the top of the page.

Rate and then Refresh

After you rate a lens, be sure to refresh the page.

Why?

There has always been an intermittent glitch on Squidoo that even though you rate a lens a 5, it will go through with less.

Quick Tips

Visit other Lenses that are related to your lens(es) or that are of interest to you.
  1. If you like their lens after you rate the lens, leave a Guestbook (Reader Feedback) entry. Do be subtle, don't be spammy.
  2. You accomplish two things, you are supporting a fellow Squidoo'er and acknowledging their efforts and you are receiving a little bit of 'advertising'.
  3. Did you know that if you include a link to an off Squidoo site in your comments, many lensmasters won't approve the comment.
  4. If you don't see your entry right away, don't leave another entry. Many lensmasters have their settings to approve entries first.

Thank heavens for this explanation. I have been trying to figure out the stuff about rating and also lensrolling. Sometimes as a newbie I get overwhelmed with how much I have yet to learn--even these simple things. Please keep up the tutorials. I've only done 1 lens so far and will definitely need to read through all your tutorials! Thanks again for great help!
