Squidoo Tips - Links

Ranked #4,104 in Squidoo Community, #286,600 overall

Welcome to My Squidoo Tips

I will start off with one of the most often asked question....

How do I add a link to my eBay Store?

If you just type the URL, it will show as text, not as a clickable link. Example:

http://stores.ebay.com/A-Well-Dressed-Bullet?refid=store

Although I typed the correct URL, you can't click on this as it is only text, you need to use an Anchor Tag and the Href Attribute.

Note: This applies to any link you want to insert in a lens, I was using eBay Stores as an example.

What is an Anchor Tag and Href Attribute?

HTML uses the <a> (anchor) tag to create a link to another document.

An anchor can point to any resource on the Web: an HTML page, an image, a sound file, a movie, etc.

The <a> tag is used to create an anchor to link from, the href attribute is used to address the document to link to, and the words between the open and close of the anchor tag will be displayed as a hyperlink.

Example in a Text Module (with Printscreens)

Click on Edit to open the module.

Enter the HTML code right into the text box, as show below

Click on "Save" which will save the changes to your module.

Your text box will now look like this.

Don't forget to enter a proper module title and once you are finished editing any of your modules, you still have to click on "Publish" to save any module changes to the lens!

Quick Tips

Using an eBay Store Link

The Store Referral Credit is a credit that Store sellers are eligible to receive when they successfully drive buyers to their eBay Store directly from a location outside of eBay, such as a Squidoo Lens.

With Store Referral Credit, eBay will give you a 75% credit on your Final Value Fees when your marketing efforts generate sales of your Store Inventory format listings.

Be sure that your eBay Store link in your lens includes the ?refid=store in your URL to take advantage of the store referral credit.
