Top 5 Xbox 360 games to this day! Agree or disagree?

Video games, the greatest escape from reality

Video games have been around for decades and the industry has been growing at an extremely fast pace. Console developers keep coming up with new, innovative ideas that will help increase product sales. Motion capture, portable consoles, 3D viewing... It's all great, but personally, I think sticking to the basics is where the real fun is at. All I need is a small controller that fits comfortably in my hand and I'm good to go. Back in the day, I would play Nintendo 64 for hours if not days at a time, playing classics like GoldenEye, Super Smash bros, Mario Kart racing and games like Banjo Kazooie and Donkey Kong. Nowadays, with all the games coming out weekly, it's hard to keep up with all the new titles. Since the Xbox 360 came out, many new franchises have become the new ''modern day classics''. Years from now, these titles will not be forgotten.

Here is a list of my top 5 favorite games for the Xbox 360 (I apologize to all PS3, Wii and older console owners, but the Xbox 360 still stands as my favorite console since the N64)

The Top 5

Out of the thousands of games for the console, these 5 are definitely worth a try

These game are my personal favorites. Some of you may completely disagree with me and claim that Skyrim has the most depth and/or that Madden 12 is the best sports game on the face of the Earth, etc.. Although I must agree that they are both amazing games and that I'm sure there are hundreds of games that could easily fit into my top 5 list, this is purely my personal opinion and I do not wish to offend anyone by stating this. This being said, your opinions are always greatly appreciated!

5) Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

That's right. At number 5, we have the first Call of Duty: Modern Warfare game. Not that the following 2 games weren't fun, but the original Modern Warfare game was such a hit that personally, I didn't find the following sequels were quite at the same level, mainly because of how you build these very high expectations and then when you finally get a hold of the sequel, it isn't nearly the same experience as when you first played the original. Although there had been many Call of duty games previous to the Modern warfare series, none of them came close to the amazing gameplay and story line that this game offered. Many people may disagree thinking that Modern Warfare 3 is by far the best game of the series, but I still believe that Modern Warfare gave gamers everywhere exactly what they wanted not only with its great story but also with its incredible Multiplayer experience.

4) Grand Theft Auto IV

At number 4, we have the highly popular Grand Theft Auto 4. The open world game category is quite popular these days, seeing as the new consoles allow developers to go into as much detail as they possible can and make it seem as lifelike as possible. GTA is no exception. Like the many games of the series before it, GTA 4 gave gamers the true gaming experience they had anticipated. This 3rd person shooter allows the player to walk, run, jump, climb over obstacles and swim, as well as use weapons and perform basic hand-to-hand combat all while having the freedom to go wherever they please. Not only that, but this game offers many many many many MANY missions, side-missions and even multiplayer online play. Bottom line is, if you're tired of all the first person shooters, this is a great change of pace.

3) NHL 12

I have been an athlete all my life and I have never been as passionate for any other sport than I have been for hockey. Being an avid hockey fan and having spent quite a bit of years playing the sport, it comes as no surprise that NHL 12 has a spot on my top 5 (every year, the most recent NHL game replaces the one from the previous year on my list) The depth in all the game modes never ceases to amaze me. Whether you choose to manage a hockey team from top to bottom by scouting prospects and making trades, or rather play as a single player on a team and follow your career from a 16 year old in the CHL to an NHL Legend, this game is the perfect game for you. You don't necessarily have to be a big fan of the game of hockey to enjoy NHL 12, but it sure helps. Lift the Stanley cup from the comfort of your very own home. Take my advice, Definitely get this game if you are searching for a good sports game to add to your collection of Xbox 360 games.

2) L.A. Noire

Are you a fan of Classic mystery movies and whodunit stories? If so, you will absolutely love this game. Many features in this game are beyond incredible. The facial expressions used by the characters in the game are so realistic, you can determine whether the suspects are lying or telling the truth simply by looking at them. The great audio in the game is one of the best I have heard, and the cases that you must solve (as Detective Cole Phelps) are unique in various ways. Investigate crime scenes, Interview suspects and witnesses, search for clues and use your intuition in order to solve these cases and charge the suspect you judge is the guilty one. This game is definitely the best of its kind and if you are looking for a unique game and enjoy solving puzzles and mysteries, I would definitely recommend purchasing it. A few more cases have been added and can be downloaded as DLC through Xbox Live Marketplace.

1) Gears of War 3

Although I am not a big fan of sequels, this game is by far the best of the series to date. Before this game came out, I expected it to be subpar and to not meet expectations. I didn't understand what all the hype was about. I had been a great fan of the first game, but when the second one came out I was extremely disappointed by the far fetched story line and the complicated Online multiplayer setup. Horde mode was kind of impressive though. When GOW 3 came out, I wasn't expecting to play it but I caved, and man oh man am I glad I did. This game has great depth, HUGE replay value (Seriously 3.0 achievement could take years to achieve), amazing multiplayer maps and many different game modes to try online. The campaign has a great story and is just so much fun to play that once you finish it a first time, you want to get started on your second playthrough right away. The Bosses in Horde mode and the new set of enemies are not the only additions to the series. New multiplayer game modes allow the player to see the world from a Locust perspective as they try defeating the COGs while new Onyx Medals help give you a certain sense of accomplishment while playing the game.

As my number 1 choice, I figure it is worthy of some extra advertising.
