My 10 favorite movies from the 80s
For the most part, I long for the days of The Brat Pack
, John Hughes
movies, and even Tom Cruise movies.A lot of movies that came out in the 80s are still very enjoyable today. These are my favorite 80s movies from when I was growing up in the 80s, and I may have watched some after the 80s because I wasn't really supposed to watch rated R movies back then...
You may wonder why certain movies were left off and the answer is because it's hard to have a list of top 10 movies from the 80s since there were so many good ones... I keep thinking of some movies that I should have put on this list. Please also vote for your favorite 80s Movies.
The Princess Bride
Best 80s movie and best movie EVER!
The Princess Bride
is my favorite movie from the 80s (actually, it's my favorite movie period.) It has fantasy, comedy, romance, and action! Buttercup falls in love with farm boy Westley who leaves for awhile and comes back as the Dread Pirate Roberts. However, she is supposed to be marrying Prince Humperdink.... she gets kidnapped, and the movie goes on with swordfighting, Rodents of Unusual Size, and true love. It always surprises me when someone says they haven't seen the movie or that they hated the movie. Luckily I married someone whose also loves this movie.Don't Agree? The Karate Kid
A very memorable 80s Movie and one of my favorites.
The Karate Kid
was awesome! Mr. Miyagi was very cool and mysterious getting Daniel to do chores that taught him Karate. I was very sad when I learned that Pat Morita, the actor who plays Mr. Miyagi passed away in 2005. I also thought the new Karate Kid remake from 2010 was the best movie remake I've seen (at least that I can remember). - Ghostbusters is definitely one of the best but I might have to find room in the top 10 for Major League. I did a lens on Ghostbusters and would love for everyone to check it out!

- LOl ok, thanks for this. It seems like ever year they come out with more movies than the year before so it's really hard to go back and watch those movies from 30 years ago. Nevertheless, this was a nice tri down memory lane. The Princess Bride, and Ferris Bueller's Day off... timeless as the day they were made. :-)

- I think I might be the last person alive not to have seen Ferris Bueller's Day Off...must rectify that soon! This is a great selection and like the other comments here I can think of so many more too. The 80's was a fun time for movies.
