My Travelogue (AndyPo)

Ranked #6,937 in Travel & Places, #188,994 overall

My Worldwide Travel Diary: Europe to Africa, Asia, USA, India... etc.

By "popular demand" (well it was a suggestion by the wonderful and prolific lensmaster JaguarJulie) here is a chronological index of my rather extensive world travels: After a very slow start at the age of about twenty, when I first ventured away from the little cluster of islands on which I live (Great Britain) I have never looked back and have tried to go on "The Holiday of a Lifetime" at least twice a year: Africa, Asia, The Americas, Europe... My job as a travelling consultant physicist (and semi-professional wildlife photographer) also took me to some interesting places...

Stuck holding down the fort right now but when I am free I'll be following some of the routes you took here. I may be calling on you for some travel advice. (I hope you are not inundated with questions .. it could get hectic.) Blessings, friend.

wow you visited Pisa? i would love to go to Italy someday! cheers
    • The_Bard Mar 20, 2011 @ 7:36 pm | delete
Well this is all very impressive Andy, but you haven't mentioned the Philippines and the 7,100 islands it encompasses. There are no direct flights from the UK, but I know that will not stop you. So I am inviting you to visit me in the Philippines. Experience the hospitality and bring your backback fully provisioned and camera gizmos. You'll need time and energy. You'll be in for a rocky ride. Are you up for it? Be prepared for the adventure of a lifetime.
    • AndyPo Mar 23, 2011 @ 4:54 am | delete
Yes. Unfortunately I haven't yet been to the Philippines, but it is high on my list. I would love to come to visit you there some time soon. I'm certainly up for it. Perhaps we will meet in a pub in RIchmond some time sooner though.

We sure will, and I'll bring the Fuji for you to cast your expert eye over. I think sometime in April is a fine time if you are free. Is it back to "The Lass of Richmond Hill"? Or maybe a pub on Kew Green? A very Georgian photogenic place.
    • AndyPo Mar 28, 2011 @ 8:27 am | delete
Kew Green would be great. I haven't been there for a while and I'd love to have a play with the Fuji and catch up with your recent exploits too. I am around for most of April.

I especially love that first picture of you!

Great pictures, but I wish you had labeled the unframed ones. When I want to read a non-financial lens by you, I know where to browse now. Looks like those links go to a lot of great lenses.

Thanks very much and good point about the missing labels. I have added labels to all of the big photos now.

Hey Andy! Wow, you are amazing! You know I think it would be really cool to be able to do a detailed, chronologically numbered Google map to show the travels in one place -- our friends Marty and Joy have a huge world map in their hope with different colored pins -- to show independent travels along with joint travels. This is great! And, you know what -- I think we've got a culture picture just like yours, well except it feature one of us! ;)
