My personal goals for 2012
Last year (2011) I made a lens about my goal for 2011 but I was not able to fulfil that goal. I have now analysed why - I did not beleive in it enough to make it come true. That and the fact that we really could not afford to pay for it either.

The Law of Attraction and how to use it
Visualisation and Vision Boards
One thing I have learned in the last few years is that humanity needs to have dreams and goals to stay alive - or we just wither away and die (at least mentally if not physically). Those who become drug addicts or alcoholics usually do so because they have lost their dreams and life goals.
One of the things mentioned in The Secret was the idea of visualisation and how it is very important for humanity to visualise a goal. If you go through my lenses you will find a lens on My Obsession with Gymnastics. One of the things I discovered is that those gymnasts who visualise their routines in their mind before every competition, usually end up winning.
The same concept is also used for skaters and swimmers, and other athletes. The more often they visualise a routine or a race in their minds, the higher chance they have of doing that routine or race exactly as they have visualised it, and therefore of winning.
Visualisation is a very powerful tool for athletes.
I am a very visual person and words are no longer sufficient for me - I have see my goals to be able to beleive in them. The best way to visualise my goals is to make a vision board. The concept of a vision board is missing from The Secret.
So this lens will be about my vision board and my goals for what I want in 2012.
I am writing this in early December 2011.

The difference between Want and Need
Want = Desire
You want something
You desire something.
But you don't need it.
For the Law of Attraction to work, you cannot be asking for something you need. Because needing something, implies you must have it now, you need it urgently and that implies fear if you don't get it now. If you ask for or desire something while being afraid, you will just become more afraid. Being afraid is not being positive.
When you desire something, there is NO TIMETABLE. It will come - eventually - but in the universe's time - not by your timetable.
You can ask for something to happen by a certain date - but dont ask for that date to be tomorrow or next week or next month. Next year is probably good. The universe will do what it can to make it happen, but you need to give the universe a little time to organise it.
The difference between Want and Need is Self Control.
In my family we have one pay-as-you-go cell phone and most of the time we are not using it. We may want a new cell phone - but we dont really need it. The plain ordinary landline telephone along with an answering machine, work together very well. They catch all our messages and the bill is a lot cheaper.

Be Positive
Also you have to be feeling that you really want this - your body has to be in agreement with your mind about what you want. You cannot be thinking this might happen, or that it could happen.
NO you MUST always be thinking that it WILL happen.
If you dont feel it, you wont get it. If your mouth is making a positive assertion - that you have $1 million in your bank account - but your mind is saying - yeah right, like I will get $1 million out of nowhere (in a sarcastic tone) - then obviously you wont get the $1 million.
So not only must you make positive statements about what you want, you must truely believe them too,
A Positive Attitude can really make dreams come true - It did for me.

My Goal for 2012
My biggest goal for this year (2012) is to find a job specifically in the area of antiquarian books. .
In fact I want to work for one specific antiquarian shop here in Toronto called D&E Lake
I want to work as a researcher, a cataloguer and an administrative assistant.
I have a business administration diploma and a good knowledge of antiquarian books. I am more than willing to learn more.
I want this position to be part time - between 20 and 25 hours per week with 4 weeks annual vacation and I want to earn between $800 and $1000 per month gross.
Oh and I want to be hired by D & E Lake before the end of 2012.

My Experience with the Law of Attraction
Looking back on my life, I have actually used the Law of Attraction and obtained 3 of my goals.
Back in the early 1990s, when I was at my lowest and loneliest, I was stuck in a job I absolutely hated. When the company started downsizing, I discovered that I could be given severance if I chose to leave and allow someone else to be given my job.
So that's what I did. I applied for a severance swap and was out of the job with a nice severance package, within 2 months. I was astounded at how fast the whole process took. This was my first use of the Law of Attraction.
Several years later by the mid 1990s, I was tired of being alone and I remember just saying out loud to the universe (or God if you want to think of it in that way) that I wanted to be married by the end of the year 2000. I also said I wanted to have at least one child, preferably a boy, and if I had 2 kids that would be fine as well.
Well - both of those have also come true as well!!!
I was married in October 2000 and we have one child. As you can tell from his pictures on my lenses, he is of course a boy. And he is the one thing I have created that I am very proud of.
I do not have 2 children because I was not absolutely definite about a second child. I do wish I had been more assertive about saying I definitely wanted 2 children - preferably one boy and one girl.
When you are truely honest with yourself, and you know what you want - the universe will do all it can to get it for you.

Further Goals for my Life - Education
Related directly to my antiquarian books career, I want to start and finish the Archives and Records Management Certificate course at George Brown College here in downtown Toronto.
This is a part time evening course. I want to be able to start this course in September 2013 (including having the money to pay for it) and have completed this certificate by the summer of 2016.
George Brown was a Canadian journalist and politician, of Scottish origin, who founded the Toronto Globe Newspaper - now called the Globe and Mail.
George Brown wrote several books as well.

- None written, nothing concrete. I do have some negative experiences with "thoughts that you hold in your mind". I had a truck and trailer here in Arizona hauling dirt and gravel. I was tired of the business but not enough to sell it or look elsewhere, work slowed down, couldn't pay the insurance and evetually had to sell it to eat.(Was there little wonder that it disappeared?) Also I had a new pickup 6 years ago, I had just over 6000 miles on it and I started wondering when that first ding or dent might be, I also had the thought of, "I wonder what it's like when the airbag is deployed?" I think it was only a week or two after I started thinking of these two items that an uninsured driver turned in front of me. (Keep negative thoughts out of your thinking.) I wonder if this has anything to do with how in The Bible it speaks of praying unceasingly. (Never allowing the opportunity of negative thoughts.)
I pray you manifest your hearts desires.

- Wonderful lens, very well done and I am such a believer in Law of Attraction.
I found it works best if the goals are not in the future such as "I will______". I do affirmation lenses for people and work very hard at making the statements in the present tense. Let's say I want to have my novel a best seller. I can't really say it is a best seller, keeping it in the present tense, but I can say, "My (name of novel)is making its way to the best seller's list daily. I market and promote it very well." Does this make sense?

- Yes I do. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences with visioning and your vision for 2012. I would love to know more about the vision board. I have collected a number of magazines of different genres and am getting ready to build one.
