My Week With Marilyn Soundtrack Features Nat King Cole, Dean Martin & Michele Williams

Michelle Williams channels her inner Marilyn by adopting the screen vamp's one of a kind look, mannerisms and walk, even learning her song and dance numbers which include three covers on the My Week With Marilyn Soundtrack.

I don't remember Michelle Williams singing and dancing in Dawson's Creek. Sure there was that tap dancing bit with Ryan Gosling in Blue Valentine so it's a complete delight that in addition to depicting Marilyn's vulnerabilities, Williams manages to successfully woo us with her talent as a chanteuse as well.

Veteran composer Alexandre Desplat composed the movie's theme song with a score composed by Conrad Pope accompanied by languid piano compositions played by Lang Lang.

The retro sounds of the time are capture by Dean Martin's "Memories are Made of This" along with two songs by crooner Nat King Cole on "Autumn Leaves" and "You Stepped Out of Dream".

Besides the terrific casting of Michelle Williams, according to Wikipedia, other contenders for the role included Scarlett Johansson, Kate Hudson and Amy Adams. In addition, Harry Potter's Emma Watson is in the movie along with the handsome Eddie Redmayne who you may recognize as Kristen Stewart's love interest in The Yellow Handkerchief.

My Week With Marilyn also stars Kenneth Branagh, JDame udi Dench, Dominic Cooper, Julia Ormond, Derek Jacobi and Dougray Scott. Release Date: November 23, 2011.
